Idea for a slight layout change. I tend to forget what color each person is on longer races. Maybe make the box around each name correspond.

How about "Beat Maxie"? Three possibilities, two of which require beating other trainers and one of which can be done immediately after entering the room. So there is some strategy if you find one of the slow ones early regarding whether to fight the trainers or keep looking for the fast one.

I got a bunch of bingo goal ideas Chris, so I hope you like at least one of them. :) - Hit an OHKO move; - Have 3 different TMs of the same type; - Defeat a level 70 with a level 70+ Pokémon; - Catch your starter again (like, you have to catch your starter Pokémon in the wild, which is possible due to always having Pokédex info); - Shop in 5 Marts (department store only counts once; must buy something to count); - Get the Waterfall HM; - Have 50k PokéDollars; - Map out the entirety of Mt. Pyre/Abondoned Ship; - Find a vanilla warp (could make it easier by allowing Pokémon Center/Mart entrances to lead to any Pokémon Center/Mart); - Defeat Maxie/Archie; - Defeat T&L; - Own 7 different berries; - Visit each town/city once (easier version of unlocking every Fly location); - Visit 8 unique locations with Team Aqua/Magma members (locations with multiple floors only count once); - Own 5 500+ BST Pokémon; - Own a 600+ BST Pokémon; - Own 7 different mono-typed Pokémon; - Own 4 different Pokémon with a stone evolution; - Get a KO using Self-Destruct/Explosion; - Get a KO with a double resisted move; - Use a charge move (Solar Beam; Sky Attack; Razor Wind; Skull Bash; etc. Moves that give semi-invulnerability do not count); - Get +6 in a stat in battle (X items are allowed if they only give +1); - Own an Eeveelution; - Win 5 double battles; - Inflict an opponent with a volatile and a non-volatile status effect; - Beat a Gym Leader/Elite Four member/Champion/Steven using only their type speciality in the battle; - Own 14 unique types (dual-typed Pokémon count as two); - Own 2 Pokémon with gender differences; - Own 6 different Pokémon that share a type; - Own 2 different Pokémon with the same ability (if the option is turned on that members of an evolutionary line have the same ability, this goal requires 2 Pokémon of different families); - Defeat a Pokémon without using a single attacking move (so, with weather; entry hazards; status effects, etc.); - Own a Pokémon that only has moves that share a type with the Pokémon; - Fish (and catch) in 7 different locations; - Catch a Pokémon and have it faint on the same map it was caught on; - Whiteout on the same trainer 3 times.

Not a bingo idea, but the latest version of UPR-ZX has support for early shoes which fixes the early pain and works with the warp rando

Own 5 Different Mails might be an idea, that requires to find specfic marts and check them. Gain x Levels with a single pokemon. Have a pokemon know 4 Different HM/Overworld moves (overworld includes teleport/dig etc. too) Beat 4 hikers or like beat x amount of these type trainers could be fun. Find something vanilla might be too much? Not sure how you deal with potentially impossible goals. Could be a door leading to the same room it usualy does. A mon in the right gras or gym fight or an item in the right route

A decent goal idea could be to like catch one while fishing/on water, one in grass and one in a cave floor

Map rando but you clear in badge and elite order, finish at champion, but you're only allowed to catch 1 pokemon every 30 min. No resetting for the catch, except obviously if you are super unlucky and need reset for softocck as well. Ultimately, if you catch a useless pokemon, if its got a bad move set, make it work until your next catch. This includes catching legendaries

Have some ideas for goals as well: "Two Legendaries from different generations." "Beat Rival 1 with a Lvl 25+ Pokemon" "Two of the same Pokemon that look different." (2 Spindas, 2 different Unowns or a Shiny and a non-shiny) "Plant berries in 4 different muddy ground patches." (maybe more? not sure how easy this is) "Burn one opponent and freeze the other in a double battle." "Exit one warp of the big mart and enter another w/o flying/teleporting/saving inbetween." (kind of like a round trip) I think in general a kind of "run a round trip without flying, teleporting or resetting" sounds kinda fun. From big mart to big mart or from the left exit of a Pokemon Center to the bottom entrance of the same Center or something.

My favorite segments are Chris on cycling road. Edit: bingo idea, go down cycling road without stopping, bonking, or hitting an optional.

Enter the Lilycove Museum, Safari Zone, base of Sky Pillar (the cave you Surf to, not the Tower), and Shoal Cave. IIRC, these are the only places that aren't randomized that don't require Dive or are the Hall of Fame (and beat Champion could be its own goal). Although, 2 of these require Surf, which kind of requires beating Watson as well if you're worried about a potential softlock.

Winning a pokemon mirror might also be an idea. or havin an enemy KO itself

Race idea: With the map rando active, trigger either Latias or Latios to roam and then suffer to catch them. Seeing as you cannot necessarily rely on lv 70s to get them into catch range without fainting and you arent guarenteed to have a master ball, there is room for entertaining nonsense.

Here's an idea for a bingo: "Determine the type of one of your Pokemon's Hidden Power." It requires you to have a Pokemon with the move, use it for a few battles, and do some quick process of elimination type thinking

Have 2 or more different status inflicted on you, more if you are including things like confusion or infatuation or make those two seperate goals

What about having 4 HM moves on a single pokemon? Or is there anything in the logic about loading zones having to be different than the og game? If not have a loading zone take you to where it is actually supposed to go could be kinda fun. Something with Wally interactions/battles could be something. Name rater could be funny. If there are any friendship checking npc's having a max friendship pokemon checked would be a bit of the map rando rng and having to have an actual main for long enough to max friendship or far enough in the game to just buy friendship increasing items. do an in game trade or obtain a certain amount of gift pokemon if there are enough in the game. Finding all of the different maps for an area like meteor falls visiting all 3/4 layers or whatever there is.

In my opinion, the best goals are ones you have to make a concerted effort for that you don't just randomly come across, yet are still reasonable no matter the card. I also like when a variety of pokemon get used, rather than just the standard OP ones. Here are some I thought of: - Beat a gym leader using lower level pokemon than their highest - 3 STAB moves without HMs - Beat T&L while all party shares a type - Defeat 2 gym leaders using only not fully evolved pokemon - Summon a weather effect in the weather institute (ability/move) - Own a family line of 3 pokemon

Going with the assumption that going out of your way to achieve something you normally wouldn't in speed running should award goals. * Perform an in-game trade * Rayquaza cut-scene * Escape a soft lock after you save (dig, escape rope, wipe) * Beat 16(?) optional trainers * Re-learn a move at the move re-learner * Breed two meme-pokemon (no need to hatch, but get the egg), and also convince your opponent why they are memes or if the relationship is one * Beat all trainers on the cycling road (non-grass part) * Acquire a royal Pokemon (Nidoking et al) * Get +6 in 6 different stats in one combat. (amnesia + x items, or x accuracy et c) * Beat Wally in victory road (or # times)

What if you played a randomizer but your starter has to be magikarp and you're only allowed to use magikarp. (of course magikarp starting with only splash while doing this run is ideal)

For future entries in this series, perhaps Shen could turn down his usage of fuck this and what the fuck that. I'd like to be able to listen to this on loudspeaker but with my kids around that's simply not possible, and honestly it's just unpleasant to listen to him talking when he's swearing so much for no actual reason. I'm not averse to the occasional well-placed precision F-Strike myself, but jeez. I'm here to watch a Pokémon race, not to hear "fuck" every 30 seconds. It's annoyed me enough to bother commenting.
