Thanks for this. It broke me through my analysis paralysis and I'm now off and running. I, too, found the "tutorial" (ha!) in Freeplane to be overwhelming and needed someone to step me through the basics, which you did wonderfully well. The "clicky and draggy" comment really clicked with me (no pun intended) because I use mindmapping to just splat out ideas. Then, I look at them and a hierarchy suggests itself. BTW, on my system (Windows 10 Pro), hitting the "insert" key does *not* create a branch off wherever I am at the moment. Any ideas on that?
