Reg for sure. I tried reboot multiple times and got chars to 260. But honestly missing frenzy and fire starter along with 2x exp coupons and buyable low cost symbols/nodestones/flames/MVP coupons/etc is way too much of a loss. Scrolling and bonus potential are more dmg than the reboot passive by far. Even surfing the auction house is half the fun of Maple Story and bosses are overrated. No one wants to spend YEARS or hundreds, maybe even thousands of top level boss runs waiting for an eyepatch drop. No one wants to lose their item to SF that they invested months or years of time into. The AH is so convenient and leveling is much faster with power leveling gear. 5m cra stuff and 80m umbra weaps are so afforable in reg server. These are the facts.
I started in reg, read every comment of how many people would have picked reboot and all the advices on reddit of how reboot is better etc. IMO I would still pick reg if I had the chance to start all over again. I LOVE the idea of trading/fashion story/merching buying Maple points and just using it whenever I need. I get it cubing is tough but meh I dont need to be at end game all the time, end game will come slowly.In the past zakum was end game now we have Kailing and stuff and people one shot zakum. I just play the mmorpg experince and trading is a big factor, take that away and it feels like an idle mobile game where it is solo progress, might as well play an offline game then lol.
I play reg simply because of what my account mean to me. Been playing on and off since pre-big bang so I cannot see myself just leaving that all behind. But to be honest if I had to start over again, I would go 100% reboot.
Elysium player. Came back last year and already halfway through liberation. I can say that after that, I might just end up playing casually as well and not spend as much because of the barrier to progression becomes much more and I don't want to spend like thousands on just an item when I have that feeling that the game might not be for me at some point. As long as there's guild members in the game, that keeps me from not quitting earlier, that's for sure!
I'm a reg main and have a lvl 265 on Reboot too, but huge reason why I stuck to reg is the fact that the cosmetic options are miles above than anything Reboot can offer. This is especially true for a small spender like myself. I can deal with slower progression since I'm never in a rush to be at the frontier of endgame content, but having a ugly-looking characters instantly kills my motivation to progress.
Been playing reg since 2006 , shifted to reboot two years back and not regretting it.. my main can solo up to cetene bosses which was created one year back.. i am sure its worthy for you to shift too
I recently started playing in Bera after a very long time of not playing.. .(I was originally playing in Broa) I didn't really think too deeply about it, and I'm inviting my friends to play with me....uhh maybe that wasn't a great idea ^^;; I'm just happy I can finally beat some bosses like zakum/horntail/von leon!! I've always wanted to beat them playing maple as a child :,) so just really playing for nostalgia and good memories maple brings back. I'll probably never reach endgame content or bosses, but I'm happy with the small things :3

Hey bro how and what steps did you take to get to this point? I seem to be at a wall at 270, all I have is my cra and absolab accessories and 1 piece away from sup gollux set. I can do easy lucid but that’s as far as I can go solo. Are u primary solo bossing or should I start looking for a team to progress further what do you reccomend ?
I returned within the last couple of months to Reg servers, partially because i had like 1900 legion already, and partially because ive technically been in bera since like 2007 ish. What i will say is if i knew the go west update was going to be THIS generous with free stuff i may have just swapped the whole thing to reboot, because 1900 legion can be achieved in about a week with 0-100 and nightmare lachelin events, burning/growth pots. I will say i am now an adult playing the game, i dont have 4 hrs a day to play/grind, so i dont mind paying real money for things that will save me from needing to do a straight up grind in game, my time is as valuable as my money, where as when i was a kid i had infinite free time and no money for NX, so its sort of a nice change 😅
I am a previous Mardia player I never took bossing seriously i was super duper casual. I came back to Maplestory I started playing in Reboot and now Ive almost made the progression to attempt Will for the first time. All my old characters ended up in Aurora after they got rid of Mardia but I do log on once in a while to my characters for nostalgia sake.
Hey I'm coming from the same situation as you and restarted in reboot in December 23' but I just want you to know that the progression isn't that bad to start over once you know what you're doing especially if there's an event going on. Now im 270 mostly just from doing daily story and events.
I don't think I can ever quit reg server. Progression is a slow burn but it feels much more intimate than playing on Reboot. It's empty but it's filled with people who have the same attachment as myself T_T Reboot is fun and the cube availability is nice, but not being able to sell the crap PSSB pulls or buy items that I need in AH is an MMORPG element that I need to feel complete lolol
I enjoy reg server because 1. I’m antisocial and like dead servers. Ironically you meet like minded people this way 2. I can buy 1000 nodestones in 1 second for 1 bil 3. I can buy cash shop equips without having to roll for RNG 4. I can afford to spend a little bit of money
Sounds like a player who is 220 and just cleared cra. Your nodes won't do you any good when you need to progress the game with starforce and cubes, which is exponentially harder than reboot. Fashion is the only real advantage and even then, a bit of cash goes a long way in reboot
I quit very far into reg progression, I passed my reg progression in reboot in a couple months, its not that bad to start over and you can always go back to reg if you want to.
I came back to the game and saw the free market was COMPLETELY EMPTY I was so confused 😅. The auction house is 10x better then any FM system ever though
lmao oh nooo :') trading and sifting through the auction house doesn't appeal to me. even back in the day, the economy annoyed me (read: i have a scamming ptsd). being able to spend in-game currency rather than irl money is a plus. and since i'm just playing casually anyway, end game doesn't appeal to me.
I played reg server before and i made $$ from selling mesos to my irl friends LOL but now i just play hyperion when it opened for a bit quit 3 month later started reboot fresh since why not if your bored
I came from maplesea. after playing in gms reboot for 5 months im alrdy doing BM in pt. I played years in maplesea, spent thousands but never gotten to do hbosses. Maplesea is a joke
Reboot fast progress was a fake server made for people who were getting gap in reg server because they didn’t have time to play but now people grind on it like reg server which defeats the purpose
It was primarily made for being free to play, not to be time friendly. You literally need 10x more time to progress in reg server with a lot of connections. You have no idea what you're talking about.
What a strange take. Reboot was made to be harder to progress in a way and take longer with no trading allowed not any of what you said lol. It’s the free to play server

I just noticed. Truly insane. Another advantage for reboot when it's 99k nx (69k nx with rp) p2w, but on average 300k nx (rng) in reg or 30-90+ billion mesos for a single vac pet
Play reg because in maplesea we have no reboot 😂 f2p is possible to hit at least black mage solo but you will need to be full time playing like hours like I’m talking 12hrs+ to 16hrs. And we don’t even have huge player base to begin with. A lot botters, community splits between whales and casuals. Am a filthy casual f2p 276 pf for 5yrs in still struggling hlomien solo, now I decided to just accept it and take it slow. At least I won’t need to deal with depreciating gear prices kek
Im so glad when I came back I went to Reboot. If you ever wanted to change mains it could be worth it to go to a bee server. Like take a longgg break then come back to reboot
