I think you're asking if there's a tool to help you optimize your bus schedule based on travel demand. I presume you have some historical passenger counts or some other data that can be used to determine demand. We don't have tools specific to this application within this toolset. However, you may want to reach out to Esri's transit sales team at transit@esri.com. They may have recommendations, best practices, or examples.
The exact data used in this video isn't available publicly, but you can purchase Streetmap Premium for your country or region. To use the Calculate Transit Service Frequency tool, you can use any version of Streetmap Premium. If you want to create a network dataset that includes public transit as a travel mode, you must request the Streetmap Premium Custom Roads product. Your Esri representative can help you figure out the correct version to suit your needs. Learn more about Streetmap Premium here: www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis/products/arcgis-streetmap-premium/overview
Thanks for nice and informative tutorial. I want to show the transport type (bus, train, tram, subway) in the calculated transit frequency. How can I distuinguish this?
Unfortunately, Esri’s public transit data model (and GTFS as well) does not distinguish public transit stops by transit mode (bus, train, etc.). It is possible, although unusual, for a stop to serve more than one mode. For this reason, the Calculate Transit Service Frequency tool can’t distinguish the transit mode for the Stops, Areas, and Points of Interest analysis types. For the Transit Lines analysis type, the output is a copy of the LineVariantElements feature class from the public transit data model, and you could join this feature class to the LineVariants and Lines tables from the data model to determine the mode. Learn more about the data model: pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/analysis/networks/transit-data-model.htm.
Unfortunately, we can’t share the files with you directly. However, the GTFS datasets used in this video are part of the Network Analyst tutorial data downloadable here: links.esri.com/NetworkAnalyst/TutorialData/Pro. The other data is all publicly available from state and local government sources.
