We started our camping experiment with a trip to Marakele National Park, we chose this park as it we had never visited it before and felt that a 2-night stay would give us a flavour of the park.
Our aim this holiday was to see how we would take to living out of a vehicle for a length of time as we are planning a year overlanding trip around southern Africa in the next few years. We needed to know if we could be happy in a rooftop tent and whether a Land Cruiser was the right vehicle for us, could we cope with the current rooftop tent ladders and was it easy to keep yourself organised while living out of a car. Turns out, it can be quite messy!
The trip started quite slowly and quietly with a lot of driving and not too much in the way of adventure, we hope that you will stick around for the rest of the trip, as our holiday starts to hot up.
