I first heard these songs with a Jewish believer in 1972. I was in the U.S.Army. he was a pacifist, humble guy. He was being bullied by group of Marines. I interdiction. Put him n his mangled bicycle into my jeep. Driving him off-base to his trailer home. Met his Jewish wife .they were listening to this music on a simple phonograph. Both shared their conversion and joy of Jesus Christ. I was humbled. Their obvious love for God and myself. We became friends till orders separated us. I searched for their music overs years, collecting cassettes. My Life forever changed by Jesus Christ!

I was a boy in Africa in sierra leone, in my teenage years in the 80's, I find so much comfort in these songs, as they transform my life knowing the lord Assemblies of God in Africa . I have found my music. I was there in Costa Mesa in that first tent revival. I was one of the first to set foot into Calvary Chapel. I was there every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday nights. I remember this songs being created and sung in our worships. Where have I been? I am now 81 years young and tears are streaming down my face... I have to have these songs in my life again... I attended in Atlanta with Laverne Campbell in a basement and school cafeteria back in the early eighties. Miami Campus Life Youth for Christ taught me most of these songs, and then I found Phil Keaggy and 2nd Chapter of Acts, Degarmo and Key Stella Walsh and Keith Green. In 1991 I was humbled and honored to be brought back to the Church that Jesus Christ started with the laying of His Hands on St Peter. Clearly the Catholic Church is under a attack from the Infiltration done by satan. The snake won't waste time on a false church especially now. For whoever is paying attention, that should speak Volumes 🤔 There's only one Church that the snake wants to destroy, and it's always been The Holy Catholic Church. Growing up in the 70's, we sang all these songs. I still burst into song now & then, and sing the songs from this time, as well as the old hymns I grew up hearing my parents sing, and singing them in church. I love some of the newer worship but when I need them, these are the songs I sing to Him!

I am like many here. I was saved Nov. 7 1976 and baptized leaving the old man of sin in the watery grave and just soaked up all of Maranathas Praise music. It helped me as a young man to keep surrendered to Jesus our Lord even through the struggles of being a young Christian endeavoring to leave that old darkness and stepping into the glorious light. Matthew, Please pray this: The bible has been changed. Did God say? Come on, really? God said He preserved His word. Psalm 12:6-7. Most modern bibles do not. In other words they are not admitting that God has a standard, His inspired word. His word is quick (alive) and quickens (gives life). His word is eternal. Most of the modern bibles have at least one out and out lie. NKJB lies in Exodus 6:3. They began to call on the name of the Lord in Genesis 4:26. Others quote Jesus telling his brothers, i am not going to the feast. John 7:8. (Is he saying he is going to break the law of Moses?) He waits and then goes. Liar! BLASPHEMY . Jesus simply said, not going now, not yet. He waits and then goes. No problem, no lie. And blatantly they mock Jesus and unashamedly, constantly, with each change ask, Did God say? Did God say Mark 11:26? Absolutely. It is an essential part of our walk with God. A verse that makes us tremble was added????? Did God say? Acts 15:34? It shows God's divine providence. Silas was there when Paul needed him for a journey. Obviously Silas remained there. BRAZENLY, they change or remove a word that gives the believers true power! Matthew 12:31 and Mark 9:29! Some spiritual warfare needs prayer and fasting! Did God say eleven (11) times in the New Testament the word damnation, eternal burning? Yes. But not in theirs! Did God say? Did God give three witnesses to that truth? Mark 9:44, 46, 48. They however only have v48. The other two they ask, Did God say? This is important because we need to know the truth and those who preach Annialism, we cease to exist, are easily proven wrong with these verses. Jesus is God and Jesus is Man. Hebrews supports this with four verses, 3:3, 7:24, 8:3 and 10:12: "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sin for ever, sat down at rhe right hand of God; v10:12. I was a 14 year old in October 71. That day my goal was to become the third base of the varsity team of my High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In the afternoon,after the try outs, I herd a group of kids in the Geometry classroom hearing the Story of Stories. I received Him as my Saviour. .. In those years Maranatha songs were a musical companion to these bunch of kids loving the Lord and preaching the gospel of Grace. It's been 52 yrs and we still love Him dearly and praise Him. He is Awsome! And yes I made the varsity team and played a great season, but nothing compared to the awareness of His tender love coming to my school to bring me to Him....
Moving into my 61st year, I remember these beautiful songs from my days as a new Christian. I was so, so happy having given my life to Jesus aged 29. I look back and see how He alone has carried me through many trials, heartache and joy. I love you Lord.

As being a single mom with 4 children and working 2 and three jobs. These were were the songs of Praise and Worship to our Lord that have me hope and strength . Reminding me I was not alone. So many of these lyrics come straight from scriptues. A great way to learn the word of God. Happy memories raising my children with Psalty and Maranatha songs and now my children are teaching their children. May Gods word continue to be established in our lives.

Oh how He so loving to us through the years. I too have the memories of these songs . The most memorable is His love amazes me to no end . I am so blessed. Situations change but His love has never changed. Thank you sweet sweet Lord for your gentle nudge to our hearts to get that one on one time we need to just bow our heads in awe.
I'm 45 and I've been listening to these songs since I was a kid. My mom had a good friend who used to bring casette tapes. His name was Sammy and he went with the Lord early. Those were the days when praise and worship was all about giving reverence to God. Nowadays, most songs are self-centred.
Thank God for Maranatha and Integrity music. Growing up as a Christian kid in the 80s India,once every few months a gentleman with a suitcase from a recording company would come and lay out 200 cassettes at the back bench of our small church. And we would buy Maranatha Worship and Integrity cassettes. Pure Worship. No lights. No loud overpowering music and the focus was just Worship of Our God. As a Worship leader well into the 2000s, at the same Church, I would still play these songs, along with Scripture in Song and more modern contemporary music. Now living in the West, churches here just don't play this songs and that is so sad. But I am grateful for this community of RU-vidrs across the world who keep the worship of JESUS CHRIST simple, pure, holy, singable and congregational, where everyone could sing loudly and Worship God. I was a little girl singing these songs. Now I am older and sing with understanding. Amen. Now I am sharing with my daughter. The worship of God will never leave a child.
I'm sorry but this is not necessarily true (the worship of God will never leave a child). My sister, as a little girl, worshipped God, memorized Bible verses (got prizes in Sunday school for her Bible verses), would sing and raise her hands during church, we were in church all day/night on Sunday, every Wednesday and any event the church had throughout our entire childhoods, she would "evangelize" her friends... and my sister hates God now that she's an adult. She says the worst, filthiest blasphemies against Him. She has taken up a bi-sexual lifestyle, she does & sells drugs, and I do believe she is doing some sort of web sex cam stuff, but I can't be 100 % sure because I'm sure not going out on the internet to find it lol. I'm telling you this so that way you understand you need to guard your child, keep instilling the Lord in them by example and teaching constantly, because a child can walk away from God at any time. My sister did.
I love the praise music of the 70s and 80s,I grew up on it, at the age of 66 yrs old I listen to it and let it draw me back to my Lord so my focus is back on GOD PTL

Thank you for posting this. I grew up on these songs. My mom played them at my dad's funeral when I was 10 and I turned from God for a long time. I came back to Him a couple years ago. I'm now 37 and in those 25 years searching for God in all the wrong places, He set me free and I'm enjoying the Maranatha singers again with such gladness and praise! God delivered me from the chains of hell!

I cherish these beautiful songs in my heart. I had returned from Trinidad, ill and broken as my husband had to return to the UK having been made redundant due to recession. I had only just got saved. 3 little children and no job. I held their little kids hands and prayed and God gave him a job 350 miles away. We later joined him and God led me to a small Pentecostal Church. These were the anointed songs that my new spiritual family sang each week. They loved and supported us over the years. I thank God for them and for His love and faithfulness. 4 of us are saved now and only waiting for my son and his family to be saved. I am an evangelist for Jesus. GOD BE THE GLORY!

Later,I also started attending Calvary Chapel Riverside up until the time that nut job Gregg Laurie called Fred Price, Kenneth Copland and Kenneth Hagin all false teachers I remained at Trinity Christian Center under Don Stout, but I became a member of Chrenshaw Christian Center when on a certain visit of dubious “ relatives” who treated me like Joseph in the book of Genesis. My favorite pastor Dr. Frederick K.C. Price of course graduated to heaven 😇😇😇😇😇along with other famous families in the faith movement Rest In the prince of peace Jesus Christ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thru it all I am still learning to trust in in Jesus Christ and refuse the vax from hell.

These songs gave me strength and hope while feeling homesick far away from my parents. In memory of my loving, most wonderful Father in this world. I miss you so much Dad. The thing I love about these old-school praise and worship songs is that they incorporate the word of God in them, which a lot of modern praise songs do not. There’s something very powerful about singing the word of God :)

In the beginning of my Christian walk 30 years ago, these songs of the maranatha had been the melody and voice for my heart in worshipping Yahweh.then I lost my way, id been longing for the kind of worship for a long time, somehow I couldn’t get from listening to contemporary Christian music. Jesus is yesterday today and tomorrow . Worthy of all praise!
I was probably in my mid 50’s (I am now 84) when I first purchased the double cd set of this album. One was only instrumental and the second was instrumental with vocal. I played it daily several times often offering a dance of praise and worship to our Lord!!! This is probably one of my favorite worship albums of all time!!!

These songs remind me of my Foursquare church in San Francisco, in the late 80´s. I am from Brazil, and the people there helped me out. I love them all. My Pastors Greg and Cindy Romine will always be in my mind.

I chuckled, Ronnie Bozeman, because I remember when I first met my wife over 37 years ago. These were some of the songs we would listen to. And one that the Lord started talking to me about these worship songs and made me to compare with some of our modern contemporary worship songs and I felt so bad and empty. For me to realize how far we have come leaving the meaningful foundations of worship as to what we have now. I am not an optimist and opinionated individual, however, the word of God warns us about no leaving the old foundations as they are our reference source of who we are in these times. These songs are so profound, that they get you soaked in an instant anointing and cause you to worship with mercy and grace and power and meaning. I was 20 years old and attended a college campus of which had the ONLY gospel based YoungLife, Navigators and Campus Crusade for Christ student extras in the whole nation, at the time. Gave my heart and soul to Lord Jesus Christ on 9/30/73 @ 9:30pm. I'm now about to turn 69 and these songs bring back a flood of glorious memories and oft held bible studies throughout the week. What a Foundation the Lord graced to me. Thank you for posting these. My tears of love and gratitude overflow, my cup runneth over. May God richly Bless you! ❤🙏
i was a young man of 30 who just came on staff of Campus Crusade for Christ when I was introduced to these songs. Each time i sing them, i would have tears of joy and gratitude in my heart to God for such amazing songs

I'm 63 also, there was fresh in the 80s & 90s move holy ghost move here in the state of Texas, singing the word is important at the Beganning of my journey That's how I learned to pray, I just prayed the word....

Supremely jealous of you for having this childhood memory (!) I mean that in a nice way, but to be in the atmosphere of praying women as a child is truly standing on the shoulders of giants. Strong girls grow up to be strong women who change the world.
I don't want to be contentious, not offend anyone. However, these worship songs with their lyrics would touch your deep soul and possessed such anointing that would melt any heart. Todays' worship music with notable exceptions. Even Though has beauty in it, do not produce the same effect. Maybe I'm an old school, but I pray groups like Maranatha may rise again.
I got saved in 1980. We sang hymns and this newer at the time, worship music. I still cry when reading the lyrics and singing along. I resonate with many of the comments here. Thank you for all your encouraging comments and sharing your memories.

It’s been a rough & bumpy road cuz my family lost faith in me but Jesus warned us about that. That’s okay cuz He took me as His own, I’d rather have Jesus. Since then most of my family have been found by Him with His Mercy & His Loving Grace, Praise His Holy Majestic & Mighty Name Jesus Christ Forever. I love the 70's and 80"s songs...i memorized almost all the songs...these songs exalts God in a very special way. I sing these.long playing and can feel the Touch of the Holy Spirit. NOV. 82 I GOT BORN AGAIN AND NOW I WILL BE 80...I CAN SAY GOD IS REAL, FAITHFUL AND TRUE HE BLESSED ME AMAZINGLY...AMEN@
