his plant is native to the tropical regions of the Americas and is named after the 16th-century physician and botanist Bartolomeo #maranta . It is also known as the Prayer Plant because its leaves lie flat during the day but fold up at night, resembling hands raised in #prayer .
Maranta Leuconeura has some of the most beautiful foliage among houseplants. Its Tricolored leaves have a velvety green background adorned with #yellow spots and red veins. The mature #leaves can grow up to about 15 centimeters and emerge from the #plants ' short stems.
While it is a popular houseplant, caring for Maranta over the long term can be challenging.
