Very disappointed with him retiring at 29. His life though. He had some bad luck with injuries. I believe he could have come back to the top 5. He retired too soon

Very good speech and an enjoyable series . One observation having seen tiriac being given a jacket too big and Safin one too small did no one check the sizes beforehand?

@@NN-zf7np he was too inconsistent to be a really great player. Sure, #1 and 2 Grand Slams is not bad, but he could've achieved much more. Who was greater, he or Lleyton? Someone who got every inch out of his potential or someone who barely scratched the surface? ;)
@NN-zf7np

@alexlackner1945 what do you mean "not bad"? Think about this objectively. In the open era, Out of 200k + atp tour level players, only 28 players have been ranked world #1. Only 153 players have won a grandslam in open era. Out of the pro atp players he is probably 99.9 percentile. You could pick any pro tennis player in history at random and there is a 99% chance he has a better record. How is that "not bad"? It is exceptional in my view. Moreover to become world #1, you got to be consistent throughout the year. No 2 ways about it. Lleyton is also another exceptional 99 percentile player.

@@NN-zf7np i agree of course he's great but in the end Lleyton - though peaking early and for a relatively short time- was way ahead of him in atp titles, world #1 duration, and overall longevity. That is somewhat sad considering he had a much bigger game with more weapons than the Australian. But that's the Beauty of the game - they are humans not machines and there's so many intangibles.
