One of the cool things about this watch is that Marathon is produced by a family company dating back to 1904 based in Canada which has governmental and private customers around the world. This watch is the embodiment of what a tool watch should be all about. The milspec qualification of these references is an assurance of quality and durability which is absent from all of the milspec pretenders. Marathon watches are qualified military vendors as well as vendors to search and rescue agencies and police agencies around the world. While Marathon/Wein watches were used in WW II by Canadian troops, the company was outside the scope of the original Dirty Dozen who supplied watches to the British Department of Defense in WW II but many of the original Dirty Dozen either went defunct or upscale leaving Marathon as one of the purest milspec producers currently in existence. There are a lot of crap brands that want to convey a false milspec connection but Marathon is the real deal and a supplier to the military forces of the US, Canada and NATO as well as others which means that Marathon has truly earned the right to call it’s watches “Genuine Military Tools of Time.” Great watch. Great company.
These cost alot of money and i see on facebook people have alot of problems with them , bezels going bad , the tritium tubes dislodging , for the money they want its not worth it .
