Marble Dyed Leather Turkish style 

showing how I get the marbled effect on leather using thickened water and oil based dyes on vegetable tanned leather.
immediately after pulling up the leather I do a thorough water rinse NO FRICTION OR IT WILL SMEAR!! just let the water run over the piece for a few minutes to get the majority of the starch off.
Seal the dye thoroughly with Resolene and/or saddle lac. You will want a good acrylic to prevent it from bleeding.
