Took us long enough, didn't it? My compliments to the editors, this turned out looking pretty slick. All the B-Roll is creative, too, and manages to frame the runners well, which is difficult to do. I'll just rattle off every highlight I can think of: Precious Gems @ 1:17 - Boomer's catch of the 2nd gem is so fringe that the replay can't even register it, truly a mastery of this level's race line. Full Speed Ahead @ 1:52 - my BOY Hyran, managing to gatekeep Chapter 1 from Total Trio Domination™, very smooth. Onward & Upward @ 2:19 - This level's route has not changed one bit since WRR1, but watching the two side-by-side demonstrates just how good our community's mechanics have gotten since 2019. Excellent execution by Berserk. Transit @ 3:14 - Don't let this level's sluggishness lull you into thinking this run isn't brutally difficult. I'm still mad. Bump in the Night @ @ 3:59 - I thought for a long time that Challenge Update made this path impossible, Props to Elomith for proving us wrong, and for preventing Total Trio Domination™ once again. Wave Pool @ 4:29 - Credit to Adustalarm for this awesome pathfind, which he claimed was literally shown to him in a dream. Please, keep dreaming, for our sake. Triple Divide @ 5:55 - I'M STILL MAD. good run Thread the Needle @ 6:19 - Sometimes it just takes a fresh pair of eyes to see something new, huh? Credit to Koogee for finding this blindingly obvious skip, 4 years into the game's lifespan. Sugar Rush @ 7:10 - RIP SkullFire, PepeHands Elevator Action @ 7:40 - Honestly just an insane run, controlling your bounces after the quarterpipe trick is super difficult, and so to later land multiple edgehits with so much precision takes a mental of pure steel. River Vantage @ 8:30 - It's still just so cool Four Stairs @ 9:09 - IMO, the most technically difficult run in Marble It Up, and IMO, Boomer's most dominant show of skill so far. It just breaks my brain, how fast this run is. Cog Valley @ 10:51 - No further comment needed. Bumper Invasion @ 11:14 - Wo0dY found it, I landed it, SpKi laced it with crack, and Koogee perfected it. Up there with 4 Stairs in terms of sheer difficulty. Braid @ 11:47 - Only took 2 years for someone to finally replicate Cobalt's TAS. All in good time, right? Sun Spire @ 12:11 - THERE I AM GARY, THERE I AM! Really though, not even Koogee's brilliant cycle skip can make this level entertaining lol Retrograde Rally @ 13:33 - NO FURTHER COMMENT NEEDED. Diamond in the Sky @ 16:01 - Gee, Boomer, how come mom lets you have THREE perfect edgehits? Newton's Cradle @ 16:47 - The nuttiest edgesurf ever performed by man salvages a world record, holy hell, Hyran. Stayin' Alive @ 17:51 - Autoscroller? I barely know 'er! Really though, Boomer's nuts. Gordian @ 18:31 - Most of SpKi's runs have been contested and beaten by now, but this one still shows absolutely no sign of losing its dominance. Incredible, especially considering its age. Crystalline Matrix @ 19:11 - No comment needed, not in your wildest of dreams. Flip the Table @ 20:26 - My most likely candidate for something crazy to be found, somewhere down the road. Vertigo @ 21:04 - Are you feeling the Adderall now? The Pit of Despair @ 21:53 - Recency bias? Maybe, but this is still the coolest run in the rampage. Danger Zone @ 22:45 - I begrudgingly put a coin in the "Pathfinding Credits to UmbraSonset" Jar. Escalation @ 26:12 - Speaking of which, 3K hours of kickflipping to win clearly paid off. Confluence @ 26:37 - Cobalt really flexed his crazy brain for this one, that destructor edgehit into Time Travel catch is just unreal. Olympus @ 27:19 - Actual in-flight meal level OMEGALUL Tangle @ 29:28 - I first saw this route 3 years ago and I still don't understand what's going on Stratosphere @ 29:45 - No further comment needed, but you're very welcome for making this level hell. :] It's very very difficult to overstate just how hard this whole speedrun goes now. Shoutout Agedude, Shoutout CMurder, Shoutout VilleOlof, Shoutout Sevadra. I really, truly love this community; Godspeed, and see you lads in Ultra.
Glad to get the chance to work on this and hope you all enjoy the editing style, ggs to the runners for tearing this game up and 1 upping the previous rampage this is crazy
This video was a real labor of love and it's incredible that the runners were able to improve chapters 1-5 by well over 2 minutes. I can't even begin to select a favorite, but shoutouts to Elomith for discovering and landing that Bump in the Night route at the last minute. Personally I'm very happy to have contributed to paths on LtJ, River Vantage, Bumper Invasion, Braid, Newton's, Stayin', Contraption, Pit of Despair, Danger Zone, Escalation, Tangle, and Stratosphere. Our community has pushed this game near to its limits, and we certainly won't be seeing another 2 minute improvement again. However, there are still many theoretical paths which have been routed and TASed with Rewind, and I can't wait to see what the runners of the future can do with them. Hopefully we will have the proper TAS tools someday to present a proper TAS Rampage to go along with these WRs. I'm also really excited for the future of this game in the form of Marble It Up Ultra! We're already seeing some incredible levels in the beta with untapped possibilities just waiting to be uncovered.
The culmination of the hard work of so many people, not just the runners who placed these incredible times, but the people who were part of finding the routes, the game developers and ofcourse the youtube and streaming community. This game and its community has come to hold a special place in my heart, and i'm so excited to see what Marble it up Ultra is going to bring to the table. Looking forward to a grand new chapter in the marble it up saga. Soon™ - Thanks everyone who's been such an amazing part of this community, in the past, present, and future.
