Hi, No. If the pottery is bisque (which is what it has to be), you don't need to alum it. Just submerge.

You put in water carragennan? And 2nd question: withstand washing paint on textiles?
@marbling4fun
@marbling4fun 4 года назад
This is a good question. The marbling kit used in the video includes cellulose powder, (this thickens the water) concentrated paints, pipettes, (these are used to drop one droplet of paint at a time onto the surface of the water) and alum crystals. (this is used to pre-treat certain items so that the surface absorbs the paints more efficiently) In terms of textiles, once you have printed your design, to make it machine washable, (on a gentle cycle) give it an iron (alternately you can place it in a tumble dryer on a hot cycle) this seals the paints onto the fabric. Also, we make our paints based on light fastness, meaning that if well kept, your fabric print will last for decades. For those that are interested, our website address is: www.marbling4fun.net

@briantrend1812
@briantrend1812 4 года назад
Sweety Jain its oil paint (oil and water never mix) it forms a very light film skin and just floats on the water. just use old colours from spray cans it cheaper than this. and you can alo spry short bursts on top of each other or to the sides.. if you dip an electric guitar body you've sanded down of old paint take some newspaper after you dunk the guitar body in the bucket and push pull all the excess colour away from your guitar then pull it out once its covered let dry then spray clear varnish over to protect guitar body

Hi, Jain! The paints we use are specialised paints, they are water based, non-toxic and stain onto most natural surfaces or fibres. The marbling kit used in the video includes cellulose powder, (this thickens the water) concentrated paints, pipettes, (these are used to drop one droplet of paint at a time onto the surface of the water) and alum crystals (this is used to pre-treat the wood so that the surface of the wood absorbs the paints more effectively). Our kit is available at www.marbling4fun.net.
