BRAVISSIMO!!!❤👏🏻💐 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I lack words to describe my impression from this recital... every piece evokes so many emotions, especially that Mazurka. I'm extremely grateful for this broadcast!!! Thank You, Maestro Hamelin and Chopin Institute team!!!❤❤❤❤❤

Bravissimo, His Schumann, and the Ravel left me in awe. I must admit, although less passionate to me, than other performers, the total clarity in execution and his way of absolutely sticking to the text, while still totally being able to play freely and inspiringly. I must admit, he is truly a great performer to me, by doing so. In my opinion the best Gaspard of his… never in a rush, although in forward motion… Bravissimo! Furthermore huge thanks to @chopininstitute for the broadcast!!

May I request a modification of this comment? At the first encore piece, Hamelin's friend was "Joe Patrych". Anyway, thank you for your listing of the program's time, and may he (J. P.) rest in peace.

@@Yubin_Lee_Doramelin, of course! Thank you for clarification, I, unfortunately, didn't know whom Maestro was talking about. May his friend rest in peace.

The Yamaha CFX has remarkable clarity and is not deficient in the bass as Yamaha concert grands were back in the '80s. I quite like the sound of it.

One can discuss tempo, interpretation ... But the clearness of voices is I N C R E D I B LE ! Outstanding! Hamelin is a revelation in that respect

Hamelin's Mazurka sounds inspired by Szymanowski's Mazurka Op. 50: No. 3. All in MAH's unique musical language. Touching tribute to his dear friend.

Jeszcze jakby jakby jakość dźwięku jesli chodzi o transmisję bitów byłaby wyższa to naprawdę byłoby wspaniale.

Listen to any of Pogorelich's versions of _"Gaspard de la nuit"_ in comparison to which this sounds a bit anemic.
@jedrzejsteszewski6694
@jedrzejsteszewski6694 28 дней назад
This sounds amazing - Sound, shading, articulation - bar none. Anemic? Try Scarbo and Ondine climax(es).
@TheSoteriologist
@TheSoteriologist 28 дней назад
@@jedrzejsteszewski6694 I listened to the whole thing and my OP remains unaltered. The climax of _“Ondine“_ was in fact part of my assessment. His whole interpretation leaves me unaffected emotionally compared to the versions I heard before.

@@TheSoteriologist it's a matter of personal taste 🙂

@@jedrzejsteszewski6694 And you think every time someone expresses his view he is obliged to add a disclaimer _"This is my personal taste only"_ while for some reason _you_ don't have to do so ? Besides, I am pretty sure that if I present a jury of experienced connoisseurs with my preferred versions in comparison to this one, not that there is anything technically deficient with it, *without (!) knowing who the pianists are,* they would likely agree with me more than with you. This, of course, is also just an opinion, but one I'd be willing to put to a test. You are not dealing with baroque harpsichord music here but with an impressionist work.

@jedrzejsteszewski6694 28 дней назад
@@TheSoteriologist There are no jurors in music - besides competitions and personal judgements. "You are not dealing with baroque harpsichord music here but with an impressionist work" Spot on - It's an impressionist work, not expressionist work. I like Pogorelich's Gaspard but the sound he produces tends to be not pleasant pretty often. Nonetheless, I adore his recording of Chopin's Preludes.
