Wow the fact they allow you to keep the defective bag instead of returning just to resale is amazing. That saves someone else from being heart broken and allows you to still carry the bag if you choose. Plus you git a free bag out of it and can still rock the brand. Thats simply amazing. Quality control issues are everywhere so it helps when atleast there is great customer service. Tfs and enjoy the new cement. Great neutral color.

Although I know it was disappointing of bag defect, sounds like MK have great customer service. I purchased this bag in the same color because of your video from the same MK store. Love it!! Didn't know about MK one year warranty. Will definitely inspect after each round of wearing mine. The cement MK tote bag is gorgeous, you made a beautiful choice of color, ENJOY! Hey sis! I so appreciate your time, concern & thoroughness! This is definitely not good for the brand to see you’ve experienced issues with all of your bags! I am glad you were able to get a replacement but the warranty needs a lot of improvement! I feel all of their bags should be covered no matter where they were purchased because they were all manufactured by MJ.

I am sorry you had these issues with your Marc Jacobs Tote! I remember quality issues began to occur with his handbags in the early 2000's, which is why I never purchased his handbags. Your hamdbags display is such a beauty and you are looking great.

That's awesome that they sent you a replacement bag and still let you keep the defective one! You could actually sell that bag to help pay to fix the lavender one. 😘

Hello! I'm a new subscriber as of this summer. I'm so so grateful for this video. After watching it, I reached out to MJ regarding my leather tote. I ordered it in mid-June and it was already showing wear on all for bottom corners of the bag (without carrying it everyday). Thanks to you, I reached out the warranty department and I too will be getting a replaced. They still have my same color in stock (argan oil) but I'm sad that this issue even happened. Makes me nervous to order another tote in the future. I too hate they don't do repairs but happy to be getting a new one. I just hope there aren't issues with this one too. Thanks again for making your content.

Hello Mo, I’m so sorry about the stitching mishaps with MJ totes. I’m glad you are sharing this information with us. Those bags are to costly for that to have happened. And it shouldn’t matter what store you bought them. I know how you’re feeling because my QVC red Olivia (Ace) satchel did the same thing on the handles on one side so I returned it and haven’t received a new one back yet. I’m so disappointed because that was my grieving bag due to loosing my pet. Let us know the update on your pink MJ tote and the wear of the replacement one. I am so sorry that you had the experiences with the stitching issues and the glazing issues, but the great thing about being a content creator is that you are able to get these issues out to people so they will know this going into purchasing their handbag or if something like this happened to them as well. Wow, that's good to know about the Marc Jacobs totes -- I've been eyeballing the mini red one but I can't quite justify it yet. And now I don't know if I'd even bother! That is no coincidence! My first thought when they said they don't do repairs but will send you a free replacement was "Well fine, she can sell the replacement bag and use those funds towards the repair of her lilac bag!" I don't know why they wouldn't just refund you like half the purchase price if not more. Maybe it's cheaper for them to send you another bag? Clearly their quality control sucks so they don't mind tossing bags here and there!

I wonder what colors they’re going to bring for FW 22/23 👀 I just placed an order for my first MJ tote on Farfetch. They have a 15% code, so might as well. I got a mini in Cement. I would have preferred Regal Orchid, but it’s sold out everywhere in the mini size and I don’t want the small. The resale market is crazy. I’m not paying the prices they ask for. So Cement it is 🥳

Gm Mo, love the collection but the constant quality issues is alarming, especially with a company that doesn’t do repairs or replacement of the exact color if it’s sold out….Anddddddd you better make sure it’s purchased directly from them for any type of recourse within a year of purchase. Definitely be delicate in your carrying to avoid as much damage as you can; but they still have a great look, Tfs and I love the cement color💖💖

Hi Mo! Wow. This video was very informative! It's never easy to provide constructive criticism, but you did a great job with kindenss and a spirit of helpfulness. Did they offer an explanation as to why your bag is coming apart so quickly? For example, did they say it was due to a vendor they are no longer employing due to quality issues? Otherwise, with no explanation, and just an apology, the same thing can happen again and again. They need to source and correct the problem. I suspect that if MJ is significantly limiting who can claim a defective bag by excluding purchasers from other retail sites, then they know something is up with the quality of their products. Repairs too would become so costly for a company that isn't producing quality in the first place. Too bad, because their designs are beautiful! Glad you got a free replacement! A step in the right direction, but more needs to be done! TFS! Much love!

Oh man I sure hate that you had to go through this my honest opinion is that it shouldn’t matter if I bought the bag from an authorized retailer of Marc Jacobs or their store website you should honor the warranty over handbag companies don’t do that that is so messed up I do hope you’re able to give Miss piggy prepared and now you got me sad on them because I have like four Marc Jacobs Bates thanks for sharing the information was definitely helpful

I feel like the quality of most everything I purchase has gotten poor since Covid and it's not going to get better anytime soon. Prices have gone way up too so there is that as well. Like you said at least you got one bag replaced but I get the frustration that it wasn't the color you had initially ordered. I purchased from the Marc Jacob’s store. I bought a medium tote bag. It came with popped stitching and some other defects. I contacted their customer service the same day I received it. They told me to contact their warranty dept. I did and they said I had to return it in ORIGINAL packaging and with tags still attached. They make it so difficult to get it taken care of. I ripped the plastic it came in. I did have the tags still on it. They weren’t willing to do anything else. So make sure you do NOT remove tags until you fully inspect bag.

Mo this happened to me with a Michael Kors bag. The bag was beautiful but the threads were breaking and just overall quality issues. So I called Macy's which is where I purchased the bag. Macy's instructed me to call Michael Kors. So when I called Michael Kors they refused to service or replace my bag because it didn't come from Michael Kors even though it was a Michael Kors bag. They even asked for the number from the inside of the bag and had me call their warranty department. So now I refuse to purchase anything from that brand. So I have to suffer your quality issue because I bought the bag from your authorized vendor!!!!!. Afterall Macy's didn't steal the bag right.

So what are the type of problems that are covered under warranty ?

Even if you didn't buy it at Marc Jacobs, if you've only used it a few times contact the shop were you bought it & they should replace or refund it for you. Or do you not have those statutory rights in the US? We certainly do in Europe. Only problem would be if you bought it from a private seller.
