Oh, yeah. Love your Garrett Park vids. Living in Pittsburgh now, but how I loved hanging out at the Garrett Park station on the weekends with my gal and watching the trains. I always wondered about the trains leaving Garrett Park heading toward Kensington: Is the Kensington station real close after making that left turn out of sight from the GP station? If you know, please shoot me an answer. Thanks. Great post.
Once again-I think I caught #70 in Brunswick in the 90s! The EMDs were apparently the hottest things going and very much en vogue back then! Good doppler horn on the one around the 2:50 mark! Ain't ridden the Met since 1984 (heading to Cumberland-behind 2; count'em, TWO-MARC orange/blue F7s!!)-maybe I'll check it out again! Gotta find my super 8 sound movie of this-and THEM!
@Rollin558 Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The Kensington station is just around the bend to the left from Garrett Park. When you watch this video and see the trains that I filmed at the Kensington station, you can see that same turn where the trains come around. The two are very close to each other. Similar to Gaithersburg and Washington Grove.
@GintaPPE1000 Well I figured out the youtube video editor and am just trying something new and different. I kinda of like it because I can put all the videos into one without having to convert them with the older software I have. This way the video keeps it's HD picture. Thanks!
@GenesisSanctuary Thanks Richard! Yea the GP39H-2 is now my favorite MARC engine since the retirement of the GP40WH-2's. I was thinking the same thing about the second train when he didn't blow the horn. Some engineers won't even use it while traveling at maximum speed here...
@GenesisSanctuary I agree, if something happens and the horn isn't being used properly, there could be a serious lawsuit on someone's hands. It is a walking path for the park.
@Engine201 Yes! I always wondered about what was around that bend and your comments and videos answered it. Thanks. I love your vids and do miss that area.
Really Great Catches Bobby!! I love hearing the horn in the distance at 2:26! Also those crossings are neat with just the bell and not lights or Gates!
@GenesisSanctuary Sometimes people are shy about using the horn. Unfortunately they are sometimes so shy they won't use the horn if they aren't prompted every time. Unusual to see you consolidating your catches into 1 video Bobby. Nice catches anyways.
Ok dude you barely showed the Kensington station and why don't you stand on the platform? If I were you I would stand on the platform just in case if something happens. This video was still good though.
