I am a Malaysian Muslim. I am proud and I don't mind living as a conservative as long as I can protect and defend the principles and values ​​of Islam itself. I don't even care if it's called conservative or whatever; that's just the perspective of people who like to label it as this and as that. The term conservative is not in the Quran. Islam is universal, relevant throughout the ages.

Alhamdulillah we getting out from our jahilitah era bit by bit... In y60s & 70s, our muslim lifestyle were heavily influenced by the west culture of lifestyle. It's hard to see woman in full covered hijab back then. Now, everything is changing for good. Praise to Allah...

To be honest, we are not becoming more conservative. Since we are born Muslim, we are naturally conservative. It’s considered taboo here to be born Muslim and not practice Islam. However, as time passes and our understanding of Islamic teachings improves, any cultural practices that contradict Islamic principles are gradually abandoned. I’ve noticed this process happening more smoothly in Malaysia. In Indonesia, the Muslim population tends to retain certain cultural practices that are influenced by Hinduism and animism. Before embracing Islam, their faith was rooted in these traditions.

I live in Malaysia and I am happy.

I am malaysian. From what I could observed the certain social medias aand even articles from news and journalisms in Malaysia are always finding fault and bad ideas on how to portray Muslims who cherished their loved for Islam. They would link political interest with the Islamic interest. Political parties when become favours to many, would get negative views, instigating that bad influences were the results from Islamic teachings. For instance the word 'conservative' used here in this video you are reacting, could bring misunderstanding to others. We know that all of us, will go cringed with the word "conservative". The blaming on youngsters choosing sides, the conservative sides like they are too young to understand or to choose are always the subject to be highlighted. The reasons why youngsters in Malaysia are seen as more conservative because they had the exposures of Islamic knowledge and education since young. Their lifestyles are with the guidance of Islamic akhlaq. Parents like me, who had gone through liberalisation and secularisation of the western lifestyles would prefer our children to embraced a clearer peaceful path of loving the Creator. During my time, as a young adult of the 1980s-90s, the islamic education in Malaysia was at an earlier stage of rising. However, my parents had a different lifestyle. they were youngsters of the 1950s-70s. They were very westernised and liberalised. They did not had the view of Islam as way of life. Islam was treated as a part of their life rather than as a whole. Kids now after the millenium, sees Islam differently, they love to embraced positivities and they are facing sickness like depression more. Due to these, Islam is a way many youngsters in Malaysia found refuged for contentment. They found positivity in Islam. Furthermore, some of our broadcasting media social too, have always asked entertainers or celebrities like singers or actors to participate in the Islamic teaching activities. These people too had made the youngsters here in Malaysia especially the trouble ones could see that Islam do not judge people. Allah is merciful and all of us had chance to repend and change to a better person. It is not the youngsters conservatively embraced Islamis lifestyle, it is the youngsters elevatively prefecting themselves into becoming the good Muslims themselves.

Going back to Al Quran and Sunnah is the fundamental to be successful in life.

of course as you expected from CNA, they're biased, but if you truly understand how Malaysian societies are formed since independence until now and learn about our history and culture and our political movements and how each party formed, you'll realize that what PAS did was justifiable, nothing wrong, its the most honest party in my opinion, stick to their core principle instead of being hypocrite in order to gain political mileage.

Islam is way of life including pilitics...our prophet Muhammad is a father (head of the family),is a head of war,he is also a presiden of a coutry...Rasulullah taught us how to be a good politician accordding to syariah islam....if we good people not involve in politics so bad people will concure the politics...we in malaysia in islamic school learn about the differencess of nubuwwat and the goverment at standart 5...secular countryw taught politics and religion are two different things and cannot be together BUT in ISLAM politics is part of islamic teaching....

i can see that on Malaysian youth, i can't say the same for Indonesian youth tho, they look pretty much afar what sunnah or islam teach from my pov

1:06 I have to agree with you, in Malaysia currently we are under a liberal party but not entirely liberal because after 2022 GE for the first time in Malaysia we have A unity goverment even that, all their promise when they in the opposition seem like just ignored or forgotten, they just break the promise and seem like they trying to divided the country even more....there's lot more to that story but its more political side story.

Hey Marcel, ur not wrong about the lectures on the phone. I think this will be on location base. Like places Malaysia or Indobesia, where muslim a lot and mosque in every corner, it better to come to the mosque or lecture space. Gathering, bonding, among muslims, get barokah in the house of Allah. For non muslim countries or nearest mosque is far way, should be fine, Internet is the bridge. Im sure Allah is just. Maybe you guys get same reward as people in the mosque.

In sweden its very diffrent the preachers only focused on children for years the adults barley know much its why it seems like younger generation are becoming more religious.

I'm an Indonesia, 22 years old, and i cant confidentaly says that the youth have become more conservative, instead personally i experienced the otherwise. Hookup culture have become normalized in the big city, the gay too, and those who dont do these things mostly only do the bare minimum or on the coast of being agnostic and/or atheist. But the good news is, the people starting to embrace Sunnah and leaving the Bid'ah, Alhamdulillah. This is a massive achievement for us because mixing between culture and islamic teaching is quite prevelant. 14:30 dude, i can relate to that.

Now adays. The preachers has widely use socmed to attract youth. Compsre to national tv once a week when i was youth. Now ppl can easily access the information according their time.

What's Muslim Consevertive? We in Malaysia as Muslim it is being like this since before The Malay Federation Feb 1948. The only difference before some votes other party instead of PAS. PAS have form the first opposition state in Malay Federation from 1951 to 1978. Then from 1989 till today. PAS have rule Terengganu thrice. Kedah Twice and yes Perlis for the first time. PAS have rule Perak before and have the largest opposition DUn for Perak, Selangor, N9, Melaka and Johor. PAS also have the largest opposition Parliament member before and now. So suddenly youth are conservative because voting PAS?.

I always take any "news items" from CNA within the context of its function. CNA is a Singaporean (-controlled) news media channel that tries to represent the views of the Singaporean government. All of their articles regarding other countries in the South East Asian region, particularly Malaysia and Indonesia will be critical and have "experts" commenting on the situation in both good and bad. Meanwhile, any criticism towards the Singaporean government and its ruling political party (PAP) are almost non-existent. If you were a Singaporean, you would then feel thankful how great and responsible the Singaporean leadership is while giving a sense of comparative positivity about Singapore. It works for them, since Singapore is seen as a safe country, politically stable and this attracts foreign investors there. By the way, just to let you know. Both Ustaz Azhar Idrus and Ustaz Abdul Somad have been criticised by Malaysian and Indonesian Muslim scholars that the content in their preaching do not follow more rigorous reviews for authenticity of their sources. Some of the hadeeth they quote are problematic yet they stand by them when giving lectures. Another situation arises that their followers also revere them as "cults of personality" that makes it difficult when other Muslims scholars try to correct their content. Wallahua'laam.

In Indonesia nationalist win the election, we have enough with those extrimist conservative who want to install "syariah law".
