Hi George Alexander, just watched ur video of marcelito , singing the prayerr, your such a joy to watch, he's amazing marcelito, from here in Philippines with much love to you out there, thank u and mabuhay!!!!!!
Filipinos are one of the best gifted singers in the world. Thanks to the internet they are now finally being recognized. From Divas to belters they've got it. When David Foster came to Manila for a concert, he was just so surprised that anyone can sing! Music runs in their blood plus the passion to be the best. If you come to Manila, visit any music bar and you will be amazed how good the bands are. Just come early as it is always full packed.
I was already a subscriber to your channel and a regular visitor, but I am visiting your Channel today because American Mum enthusiastically endorsed you in a vid I was watching a moment ago. Marcelito is really incredible. Nice reaction. ☺
Awesome indeed. It's pure talent. It's his "fake cough" at the end, which he does in some of his performances. Love him, just love him. Proud to be Filipino. From Toronto.
I love your reaction. American mum brought me her. Marcelito Pomoy is the first winner of got talent philippines version and he sung that song in the finals. Maraming salamat (thank you very much)
Your reaction was priceless! Marcelito Pomoy taught himself this song, he has no classical training, rather taught himself how to sing from an early age. He learned this song by listening to a recording by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. His performance, considering that he requires a translator to carry on a conversation in English even though he understands it well but has trouble speaking it, is gorgeous. His native language is Philipino Tagalog, and he has no formal training. The recording engineer was teasing him about his female voice. That's why he spit her out at the end. Notice his big grin after doing that. He is singing now in English, Italian, Spanish and Chinese but he does not speak those languages. Possibility even more by now. He grew up on the streets from age 7. On September 21, 2014, Pomoy married Joan Paraiso of Calauag, Quezon, and they have one daughter, Marcella Janiah. He is very humble, helping out his neighbors with odd jobs and repairs, even though his reported net worth is around $5,000,000 USD. His ambition serves him well in whatever he does! I'd love to see your reaction to their link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yb2HR47npEU.html for "Misty Mountain". Peter Hollens - the Hobbit - sings all upper ranges barretone/high tenor. Tim Foust - the Dragon - contra bass with a full five octave vocal range.
Just pure God given talent, simple as that. I was pretty stoked as I first watched this video 5 weeks ago when i was holidaying in my homeland Philippines. I watched all his videos and reactions ( courtesy of the apt. I stayed in) and that kept me entertained so much that I cant stop watching them, to this day. Loved your reaction. i think you have got the best reaction amongst all of them. Cheers from Sydney, Aust.
George nice to meet you , I came here thanks to American Mum and by the way the name is Pomoy ! Marcelito is the most talented polyphonist I know after Michael Winslow . That talent is called polyphonism and it is actually the ability to "copy-paste" voices or sounds and reproduce them . Beatboxers are also polyphonists if you wonder ! Anyway he is wonderful and I liked your reaction ! Welcome to our club of fans of human voices bro !!!! Oh yeah he does that like it was nothing !!!!
He is brilliant in vocal control, A duet alone, can transition in one 1/2 breath, its insane. not only that but controlling two different languages, two different voices..Effortless...Heavenly truly..Thanks for reaction, Peace
Marcelito is one of a kind a gifted indeed thats why we are proud to be a PILIPINO KINDLY DO A REACTIONS TO HIS PERFORMANCE NEVER ENOUGH, I SURRENDER, AND FLOWERS ,BY MILET CYRUS THANKS A LOT

American Mum sent me. The Philippines have some of the best yet underrated artists. If you're starting to do singer reaction vids, you'll encounter many of them, and from other countries as well ofc, such as King *Dimash* (Kazakhstan), Queen *Sohyang* (South Korea), Prince *Hua Chenyu* (China). I see you've encountered the Princess already, *Morisette* (Philippine). Remember those other 3 out of 4 names of YT reaction royalties ;) . Happy reacting, and may the fandoms of those royalties grant you with subs.
hi George good reaction, marcelito was the first winner in Pilipinas got talent. try to check kz tandingan singing rolling in the deep in singer 2018 in china epesode 5. kz also from Philippines and also a champion in Philippine x factor .
He was born into a broken family, hardly a few years old when his mother left his family and his father ended up in jail for a long time. With no other relative to take care of Marcelito Pomoy while he was below 5 years old, he ended up joining his father inside the jail. After sometime being inside the jail cell living with other genuine criminals and his father, a police guard was moved by his plight that he took Marcelito Pomoy to live in his home with his own family. He studied in kindergarten through to his 3rd grade in grade school in a local public school. He was neglected in that family so at a very young age of about 8 years old left the only home he knew and walked the streets of Manila, Philippines, often going for days hungry, doing whatever odd jobs he can do to be able to buy a piece of bread or scraps of food he could find on the streets while searching for his mother he never really knew. All that time he learned to humm and sing himself to sleep. He did so much variety of odd jobs like being a helper in construction sites, mixing cement manually with gravel and water and carrying it to the guys needing to build hollow blocks with cement, etc., selling boiled duck eggs which is a popular delicacy called "Balot" upto the wee hours of dawn, any job an under 12 year old kid could do Marcelito had done it, excluding any criminal activities which he never did. He would hang around clubs and restaurants and watch in amazement at the talent of the singers' performing while he watched from outside the door. He started singing himself and follow the way he sees the singers sing and thru the years he kept on singing. He was a no read no write kid having left his 3rd year public grade school education to fend for himself and survived all those years. It was while Marcelito Pomoy was in his teens while cleaning inside massively large chicken pens in chicken farms that he discovered he could sing both male and female voices. His very first audiences were those clucking, egg laying chickens... we will never know whether Marcelito encouraged those hens to lay more eggs while being serenaded !!! He honed his skills further and sometime in his early 20's he was urged by his circle of friends to join a nationwide TV network singing competition in Manila. He won the competition hands down despite so many excellent competitors. He got a record deal with the recording studio arm of the same TV network and the rest is now history. His SUFFERINGS in life I just barely touched on the surface.... You won't be able to watch his RU-vid videos about his life story coming from Marcelito Pomoy because he is not comfortable talking in conversational American English. He can sing almost all songs in so many different languages with the help of a vocal coach but talk to him in English, interview him in English and he would need a translator to assist him. He is very rich now in terms of an average Filipino earning a decent living in manila, he bought a beautiful home and got married to his girlfriend and they have a child now to enrich their married blissful life as a family. He has returned to school to be more confident in his life but it's still a very long way to go for him. He does an excellent job of emulating the diction, way of delivering of the singers he hears and watches. His favorite singer is Celine Dion and Andre Bocelli and the prayer is one of his favorite songs. He first listens to each song he wants to sing, following their pronunciation, breathing patterns, etc until he's able to follow them like he did with Celine Dion etc. He never had a voice coach back then because he could not afford one before he joined a Philippine singing contest. I hope I had shed some life on Marcelito Pomoy so you'll understand better why maybe you'd notice some slight imperfections in the way he emulates other singers' songs. In one of the interviews Marcelito Pomoy was asked in Tagalog, the national language of the Philippines, the media wanted to know what was the meaning of the gesture he did pretending to cough at the end of doing a recording of the emotionally filled beautiful song THE PRAYER, he jokingly said he wanted to bring out the woman in him but did not expand any further ... maybe he wanted Celine Dion to come out perhaps ???? I'm Mr. Briones, from the Philippines, too, like Marcelito is, but I've migrated to Australia living in the beautiful city of Sydney. God Bless us all. Jhun Briones Sydney Australia"
