On the semi-final Simon said the same thing he said on the finals of AGT. In fact, Simon was wearing the same shirt, exactly the same, both on the semi-final and the final segments of the show.

Marcelito did say that the song he would perform in the finals of AGT had been chosen, not by him but by them, meaning AGT (Simon).

Who cares about Simon's opinion what matter the most is whenever Filipinos sing they are confident humble and proud of the amazing talent God have given to to them. Filipinos sings from the heart.

marcelito said in his personal post, that he didn't choose the song for the finals it was the agt staffs and simon approved it and he thinks that the song that they chose for him is not suited for a finale act and he can't choose a song of his own for the finals because simon already approved the song that was choosen for him.

He did everything to make the songs more even better.cause he knows ..If he sings normal then it's all finish

About what Marcelito said on an interview by MJ Felipe of ABS CBN Network. He said the song chosen by Simon Cowell is not Applicable to perform, and the song is not a Contest song for AGT Finals, and Simon Cowell's chosen song is a long preparation and there is no such time cause the upcoming finals event is very soon. That's why Marcelito is not feeling well and he isn't good about what will be happen next. Simon Cowell's Production team told Marcelito Pomoy what song he can perform for the upcoming event and Marcelito gave a list of a songs that he can perform for the Competition. And the Production team worked their ass and rushed their time for Marcelito so that he can do a Practice for the upcoming Finals event. And the song that gave an approval on the list is Beauty and the Beast. And Simon Cowell's chosen song is Take for granted. About what Simon Cowell's said on his Judging he wants Marcelito to be out of his Comfort Zone which is "The Dual Voice" and it will be less predictable for Simon Cowell if Marcelito did that thing.

AGT Champions was recorded back in October and over a far shorter time than the five weeks or so it has taken to broadcast it. I suggest it may therefore be unrealistic to expect singers who reach the latter stages to be able to choose any song and for the producers to then secure the performance rights to their choices as opposed to securing rights beforehand and then present a limited choice to the singers. I also doubt that Simon personally chose the song and then criticised the choice - that would be dumb because he would be exposing himself to the backlash he is receiving anyway. He may or may not be the one who communicated the choice to Marcelito but he pays a lot of people to do the groundwork, so why would he get his hands dirty choosing songs instead of lounging around his pool or whatever his leisure time entails? That's like expecting the billionaire CEO of a supermarket chain to test spaghetti hoops. It's much more likely that Marcelito was told by a minion that "Simon wants you to sing x, y or z" to which there would be little resistance because "Simon says". Meanwhile Simon has no clue because he hasn't been seen since the previous day of filming. If we disregard what we know about the show being a sham, I also doubt Angelina Jordan chose her Elton song for the above reason. I didn't particularly like it anyway because, even though it was good in isolation, she needed to outshine her Bohemian Rhapsody. That would have been difficult on her best day but she came with the exact same formula when she should instead have demonstrated her versatility, meaning the song became the comparator and . . . well there is no comparison. Would she do that by choice with such an array of styles in her repertoire and, presumably, resources as vast as she has ever worked with? Performance rights are an issue singers in talent shows will always encounter. Shows like AGT Champions are a logistical nightmare if not planned meticulously, which may mean singers have to learn unfamiliar material at the worst time. Maybe that's why they don't do so well.

My comment may be a year late, but I'll try to explain why artists that should win, don't. AGT has their own talent agency. Performers who go on are required to sign with them. Not saying a performer has to sign, but there will be no win. It's not Simon who dictates who wins. Some of the judges remarks are pre-recorded. It's injected at times if they're off. This too is intentional on AGT's part to pick whatever comment they want to add from their files to the show. This was also done to Angelina Jordan. Her Uncle refused to sign her to AGT & was informed she wouldn't win. They were so nasty about her not signing, they were ready to refuse having her perform. Her Uncle pressed on because Angelina always wanted to sing for Simon. Which she did. AGT plays dirty to alot of good talent that refuse to sign. Sign; good chance to win & the performer will be pushed to make performance's to make $$$. This is done for a year. Don't get much in the way of bookings from them after that. So I understand. Now for someone super talented, probably would give more bookings. Bookings for the first year is just about back to back. High burnout. I stopped watching that show a long time ago when I too became suspicious about them. Good observation on your part over the same clothing aspect. That is what made me think something was up.

Simon is very inconsistent with his comments at times, I understand that Simon did choose that song for him, He done some other bad comments on another girl last year and she sung in her final performance a version from a James Bond movie and it was perfect with that performance her Name is (Charlotte Summers) from Spain,have a look at her performance one of Spain's TV station she is on it every week she is like a professional singer.
