It's so sad and disappointing that Kobe passed away when he did. Because the podcast/interview sports show game took off exponentially after he passed. We didn't really have athletes with platforms like this before then. He would've flourished like crazy in this sphere, especially since he was already trending towards being in this industry, somewhat. The amount of knowledge and experience he would have given... Would've loved to see him on his own show or collabing with some of these other athletes.

Hey Stephen, since I cannot contact you. Maybe someday you can do a topic on this term "Basketball IQ." We should should be mindful of using this term(Basketball IQ), because their is a meaning behind it. You have to be born with intelligence to have a high basketball IQ. I actually hate the term "basketball IQ" I hope people stop using it, especially people who look like what most NBA players look like. It is only in the basketball that when someone is smart, instead of just calling him intelligent, they have to include the word basketball to the IQ. The real meaning behind basketball IQ is that you might know the ins and outs of basketball, but you are not necessarily smart outside of basketball. You don't hear football IQ or soccer IQ, tennis IQ etc all they just say is that person is intelligent when playing those sports. When was the last time you heard a commentator saying "Football IQ" when describing an NFL quarterback being smart on the field? Probably never, almost always they just say how smart the quarterback is. But also, how often is the term intelligent use for minority quarterbacks, very rare when compared to the majority that play that position in football, the word intelligent is use loosely for a certain race in the football. The reason basketball IQ was coined and still use by commentators is that they had problem calling basketball players intelligent even when that particular basketball is very intelligent because we all know the majority of NBA belongs to a certain race. Every now and then I will hear commentators like Hubie Brown and others calling a basketball player intelligent, but if you watch Hubie's commenting, he only use the word intelligent when talking about certain players whose race is different from the majority that play the NBA. It is extremely rare for him to call certain players' intelligent rather than using the term "basketball IQ," but he is very quick to use the word intelligent to others, the minority in the sports. In other words, he is very quick to use intelligent for certain players and also very quick to use basketball IQ for other players. I have never heard Hubie calls Lebron intelligent in an NBA game, if it happened I missed it or have not witnessed it yet, NBA players will tell you how intelligent Lebron is. But every time Jokic and others players like Austin Reaves play, he is very quick to call them intelligent and almost never uses the term basketball IQ when describing Jokic and those certain players. Of course Jokic is smart, but the same is Lebron, Chris Paul, Rondo, Draymond Green etc. Hubie is not the only one that does this, many other commentators do the same, they reserve the word intelligent in the NBA for certain players and basketball IQ for the majority of the players. You are born with intelligence, you don't develop it. You can learn things, like going to college and learn how to do things/profession etc and get a degree. But you cannot learn to be intelligent, if that was the case we will all have IQs of 140 or more and be all considered geniuses. Basketball IQ in sport need to go as in other sports. If someone is smart/intelligent, just call that person intelligent.
