The Nascar drivers had nothing bad to say about Mario. Couldn't help but like him. Waddell Wilson said all Mario ask for was a good engine. And waddell changed numbers around, at Moody for team ford so Mario didn't get screwed. Mario gave all credit to waddell.

Been a diehard Marco fan since the late 2000s. He had such a unique driving style when I first started watching the series. First one to create a third lane at texas, first one on slicks on a drying track...It was always something and extremely entertaining. I hate that it hasn't worked out at the 500 so far and that he's been uncompetitive in the race for a few years now. If he somehow can find that old Andretti form he had for so many years at this race and can pull off a win, I'd be the second happiest person in the world behind him. Good luck MA

I was with my family in the South grandstand for Marco's first race. We were about at the track exit gate before we learned he hadn't won. We were shocked because nobody had eve been passed for the win after exiting Turn 4 for the last time. I first tasted coffee when I was about 12. My second taste was in my mid-sixties. It reminded me why had not wanted a second taste.

And you're saying that you wouldn't, if the opportunity presented itself?! Michael didn't want him to race, because he (Michael), Al Jr. and "just Al" had all been pretty much pushed into racing because of their family names. Marco had to convince his father that he was SERIOUS about driving and was willing to put in all of the effort required. Yes, the family (and the family name) got him the ride this year, but HE had to qualify and put that car in the show!
@Dmd265

@@patlatorres7000 Most people would take the opportunity if it presented itself. Who wouldn’t choose being a professional race car driver over a boring 9-5? Eh. There was about a 7 or 8 year period back then where he was a pretty decent shoe, and even won a few Indycar races. I mean sure, he kinda coasted for the 2 or 3 seasons after that, probably a bit burnt out. Maybe him winning in SRX, and the few seasons away from daily grind of the sport, relight the fire in him.
