www.marcopolobeats.com Marco Polo feat. Masta Ace "Nostalgia" from the upcoming album Port Authority in stores May 15th. Make sure to cop that. Support Real Hip-Hop !
It’s criminal how underrated Ace is. His songs have so much knowledge, he talks about real stuff, he’s so smooth with his lyrics and flow it’s crazy. I’ve never heard a bad Masta Ace song, no cap
i saw masta ace still perform at a club with less then 30 people, and no one was engaging except maybe 10 of us. and he still went in on stage, like it was jammed pack. i respect the fuck outta that, masta ace remains one of my favourite artists and this is a huge reason why, he was down to chop it up after the show with us to. straight legend.
Kids kids calm down hahaa. He’s not underrated. Eminem literally copied his flow 😂. 50 and buckshot said they wouldn’t be nothing without born to roll. He’s one of the greatest rappers of all time. Every NY rapper messes with him - boogeyman cuz he killed him with acknowledge.
Also it’s crazy how the legends from our era had to earn there name in hiphop circles & some never got there proper due But in this generation a shitload of these young lil rappers get too much praise & credit & still can’t spit dope bars.
There are way to many underrated emcees like these, it's a damn shame! There are some serious spitters out there these days that carry the torch but they barely get 1K views..
Hip hop!!! Where have you gone!!?!? You make appearances here and there!! There’s sightings of you like this joint here !! This joint is real hip hop!! We miss you!!
This video makes me wish I had friends that listen to real Hip Hop like me, seems so chill just doing this, chilling in the streets and shit, like the old days!
+PhatCat Imagine the situation when the only one who knows the language and listens to real rap is you. Nobody feels it as much as you and the best known "rap stars" in your country are fuckin peasants who dont know what HH is. The saddest shit is when Disco Polo is more popular than real music. Fuck my life. Greetings from Poland EU.
Just left a MASTA ACE & MARCO POLO concert in Lisbon Portugal. 09/06/2022 Had a grown man in tears and emotions flowing…. Such class and quality it is undeniably once of the best partnerships in hip hop, ever! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️ one love ! L O V - E! Give me some of that good ol’ loooove!!
This is what real music sounds like... Feel the beat, feel the vibe. Nod your head and get in the zone. Run the track back a few times and listen to the lyrics... If you can't feel this you don't know music. ~Gone.
THIS OLDER MAN IN THIS VIDEO.ON THE STEPS.. LOOKS JUST MY FATHER. HE PASSED IN JUNE 1985..HE WAS IN WORLD WAR 2..IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC 1945.HIM AND HIS TWIN BRO WAS DRAFTED. BUT YA I LOVE YOUR MUSIC.NEW YORK IS HUGE.. ALL THOSE BRICK BUILDINGS TOO.. GOOD BUILDERS.. LOVE YOU. TAKE CARE. THANKS FOR SHOWING NEW YORK.. WE NEED MORE OF THIS TYPE MUSIC..
Future I just listened to this for the last 3 hours straight. The places my mind went, the feeling of empowerment and pride was immense. Ace does things like this to your soul when he gets on. The beat is sublime when paired with his flow.
Masta Ace, O.C., Mos Def, The Roots, Evidence, Planet Asia, Elzhi, Common, Rass Kass, Cunninlynguists, Slug, Brother Ali, Del, One Be Lo.... I am gonna listen to their music even when I am 80. (I am not talking trash, being doin it since 10 years, I’ll go on)
As long as there are sites like RU-vid, Hip Hop's legacy will be secure here because you can see it, hear it, feel it, absorb it in your mental and educate yourself in it. We're fortunate!
"Hip-Hop used to be so thick in the air When it was there you ain't even need a kick and a snare It could have been finger snaps and hand claps But nowadays it feels a little different when a man raps" Damn... made me stop bobbing my head and just be sad for a minute...
Nothing will bring back the vibe of late 80s and the 90s...The Earth was a different planet back then...Around 2004 EVERYTHING changed dramatically... for a worse.
0:43 "what's that right there" That's real hip hop my man, i love this to much. That moment when he turns op the volume and the beat gets that warm sound, i feel so good at that moment
Man, Masta Ace is objectively one of the greatest to ever do it. Not only he has been putting out music for decades but he has got better with time. And this track in my opinion helped to keep good quality old school hip hop alive in a decade when it seemed to be dying slowly. So props to him and Marco Polo.
I don't know if it is just me, but this video makes me feel nostalgic, is it strange? Because it actually makes no sense, i'm feeling nostalgic about a reality i've never been in. It's just that, feeling this connection between these people makes me feel in ecstasy, it is like i can feel, through the flow of this music, how connected and smooth they lived together. I don't know man, maybe i'm just talking shit. I have this same feeling with Adult Swim Bumps.
+Storm Istery hahahahaha man i swear thats totally what i thought when I first heard the track, i was kinda happy while watchin the video haha, youre not alone with that
+Storm Istery it's funny you mention that because i felt the exact same way while listening.. it's that beginning bit where he's buying that drink. just takes me back to simpler times.
I still listen to this song in 2023 and it still feels brand new to me and crazy thing at 9 years old I met Marco Polo when my brother would take me with him to go see his friends never knew he was this talented and of course masta ace is the ish too 🙌🏽
Nas and Ace are the 2 rappers that really just feel like they're talking to me when they rap Nas is my goat Ace is up there aswell for sure along with Pac, Big, Em, Hov, Meth
This kind of hiphop is so dear to me I come back to this song every once in a while. It's so inclusive. No over sexualisation, no over usage of curse words. It's just the young, the old, the white, the blacks, the men, the women enjoying life.
The good thing about hearing something this dope for the first time is that its new to you. Thats when you realize it doesn't matter what radio play. The real shit will prevail!!
I remember when I heard this song the first time 15 years ago; hearing that Erick Sermon line, "this might be my last", I thought for sure Ace was telling us that he was hanging it up for good. My heart sank, for real. Still wonder to this day if that's really what he meant for this song to be and then had second thoughts. Whatever the reason, thank you for sticking around Ace. And thank you for giving him plenty of tracks to lace, MP.
