You can see the device at 6:13. Troy uses it to approximate the sound to a violin, that is the original instrument in the studio version.

You should check out another Finnish band. Amorphis. The Bee or Amongst Stars are good recent songs of theirs. Also Troy was using an ebow. It uses a vibrating magnet to cause the guitar strings to vibrate infinitely. Creates those long beautiful notes.

@@MrRockNRollLive I would also like to see "Revamp - Here's my hell " Also from Graspop 2010. She had microphone problems on that one. But it is one of her best songs, that she has written in my opinion. And the lyrics are about her. And those lyrics with her performing it, hits hard every time I listen to it.

This song was used in a Finnish movie soundtrack. The tender side of Marko. Troy is using an Ebow. It is a device that works off of magnetism and causes the string to vibrate which creates a violin sound.

Someone got a haircut and a beard and mustache trim. Looks good. You are right about the people in this band are good. And I mean good people. They really care about the world we live in and the people in this world. Tuomas wrote a song after reading about the Columbine shooting. It is sung by Tarja and it is called Kinslayer. Another fun reaction.......... :-)

That was about what the the settlers did to the Indians when they went west and took their land. That is an amazing song also. It was done live at the End of an Era show................ :-)

Another recommendation that I do not know IF there is a live version of(Don't think so), is the Intro song to the Imaginaerum album, Taikatalvi. While short, it's absolutely beautiful. And the song's name is Finnish for 'Winter Magic'.

This song is originally only for male voice (Marco) and no guitar at all. There is a music video of it and some clips of the movie "Lieksa" which for Tuomas made this song.

Whenever they play this (and other songs with Marco on lead vocals),Floor not only shows with her vocals that it is indeed Marcos song,but she sits herself in the background until towards the end,then she joins in up front. Floor came in and brought such a unique chemistry,peaceful aura and atmosphere around her. Nightwish never looked this complete on stage with the 2 other vocalists. No hate towards them (im actually a huge "fanboy" of Tarja,but then Floor happened to me) The guys are all smiles on every concert they do,i never saw that under Tarja or Annettes days. And it also goes to show,Floor with her talents couldve EASILY become a super diva,stealing the show and "demanding all the attention". But what makes her skyrocket above alot of great singers,is that she is soo sweet,caring,humble and lovable! She deserves a massive golden statue of her!😍💞 (From the legendary Wacken 2013 concert,that has been a idea of mine for a long time allready) I have heard and read from Dutch/Holland people that she allmost doesnt get any coverage in Dutch media. Wich is a d**ned shame! (Yes i censored myself)

This is one of my favorites to sing along to. Great reaction as always! If you'd like to see some of Marco's stuff before Nightwish, check out his band Tarot! They have a sound in the same vein as Iron Maiden, Dio and Judas Priest. I highly recommend the song "Wings of Darkness" to start off with.

Man, you should check Sinergy ,. IMO one of the greatest finish bands ever. 2 of the best finish guitarrists out there, marco on the bass guitar, and some sick drums and female (rockish) vocals. They only recorded 2 or 3 albums, but man... they are totaly worth it. If you want to react to a song, react to Midnight Madness, for is the only song with a 'decent' video. All live videos suck. If you don't want to react to them, just listen to a few songs. Im sure you will love them. Pay attention to the guitars... they are f* sick.

Sorry, i am german and don't cut it: What please is a pet martian (?) ? Marco stopped rather abruptly after saying that, like "Oops! Watch your tongue, bro! Bit too far!", and you don't seem to be able to believe it either. BAD word? Or does he just mean all these only slightly crazy people, who have a nervous breakdown when their bullfrog disguised as Cinderella is not ranked in a competition (yes, things like that EXIST!)? In that sense for every other pet mistreated in that way too?

You should react to Marko's band Tarot. There's a video from 1986 of this band singing "Wings of Darkness" . It's so funny to see a beardless 20 years old Marko. There is also a new rendition of this song recorded in 2011.

Thanks for doing this one. This was the song that really brought me to Nightwish. It's very sentimental to me. If you want more Marco with Nightwish I would recommend The Islander. His band Tarot (done with his brother) is pretty awesome. He's also done a lot of work with a band called Delain. Sing To Me is awesome. I also love The Gathering.

If you want to the ultimate Marco metal ballad listen to Tarot "Gone", which is his side band. If you turn up the volume it may hurt your ears.

One of the things that is so fabulous about Nightwish is that anyone of them will take a backseat to let the others shine. Did anyone notice that Emppu is not there? Marko and Troy had the guitar work covered, Floor sang backing and Tuomas just mellowed out in the background with the keyboards. Not many famous musicians out there would so easily and happily take a backseat. This is one of their songs that I could listen to on an endless loop.
