maestro Tamayo, me encato el video por lo que veo esq das bastantes tips de como lograr un mejor sonido dependiendo el limado de uñas pero no quedo muy claro ... sera mucho pedir hicieras uno en idioma español x favor... saludos desde mexico . 👌👍
The subject of nail filing and shaping has been around since classical guitar accepted as a serious instrument in the classical world. But, in YT, I only see the nail shaped for LHS plucking. Although I notice there are some players who consistently pluck the strings with the RHS of their nails. Liona Boyd uses both sides, depending on the situation, and so did Ida Presti. I wish someone with good knowledge on this subject would make videos on this topic. It will be interesting as the RH positioning will be more dynamic and the tone production will be more varied too.
Hello maestro, could you talk about the filing and movement of the thumb? Most people talk about i,m,a but leave out the information about the thumb, it will be great you could talk about that! Thank you for your videos!
Marco, muchas gracias por tu videos. .
do you use sand paper to fine shaping your nail after using those glass or metal filer ? How long are the nail on the left finger nails? I use to play with all my 5 fingers including my pinky or chico finger on the Right hand. How do I file it according to the way I pluck the string.
Mr. Tamayo, I'd like to ask you a quick question. I noticed that you emphasize the importance of reference points, so I want to know this: when I make a reference point with the "a" finger on the first string (for example) and with the thumb on the third string - should my tip joint (the one closest to the nail) on my "m" finger bend a little when I pluck the string (similar to the way it bends in apoyando playing)? I noticed that my hand gets tensed if I try to play without bending it a little. Kind regards, Mihailo
Estimado Andrés, he impartido clases acerca de esa obra pero no la he incorporado aún en mi repertorio. Impartiendo clases la he tocado. Algún día la tocaré seriamente. Gracias por tu interés. Un saludo!
your nails are still long for me. I prefer shorter nails because I love to play more on my flesh on fingers rather than on the nails itself. It sound more punchy if I used more flesh about 70% and nails on 30% to produce powerful sound by pushing onto the strings toward the sound hole to vibrate vertically instead of horizontally.
how can we know. The length of the nails depend on he right hand position. Hard to say how long someone uses the nail from a video. Here I let my nails long in order to be able to file them for the video and for after. Best regards!
