Hmm, when I talk to Norwegians and I ask what they think about M&M's, the only answer I get is that nobody in Norway likes them anymore. But here it was clear that this is not the case.
It's a bit of both. Unforgettable charted at 26, but most of the newer stuff from M&M don't do that well in Norway anymore. Obviously teens today that grew up with M&M obviously know the older more popular songs. A lot of people came to this concert only for M&M, but that might only be because it is M&M and they like their songs which they grew up with. Everybody in the crowd knows Elektrisk because it's the most popular song in norwegian ever, and people grew up with M&M's songs from the middle of the 2010s. Most people in Norway know M&M, a lot of teens love them but most really only know them for their songs from 2012-2018 as they haven't really had big songs in Norway for some time. If you take away Unforgettable and Belinda (2021) M&M haven't charted in Norway since 2017.
@@NorwegianHits Ok, thank you very much for your interesting answer. I made my way through the entire "VG lista" on YT and listened especially when the groups were presented. And it was also clear there that M&M received much louder cheers than the other artists. Even here in Sweden they have been met with mixed feelings. Especially when they represented Sweden in ESC. Many wondered how you can represent a country you don't live in. The funny thing is that it has happened several times during ESC time. However, probably no one has the energy to find out about this. 😁
Yeah even though the songs might not be popular M&M are still loved by teens and everybody were hyped for their performance. The only people in recent years that might have come close to the cheers for M&M are Undergrunn and Kudos for VG-Lista 2023. And yeah, a lot of people have represented a country they don't live in, in ESC, like Celine Dion.
