This is one of the best concerts on RU-vid...I tell people about it all the time. And Marcus Miller is a brilliant musician. I don't throw the word fan around lightly, but I am a fan of this guy out his music....!!

I've watched this about 40 times now.

WOW ! Not to take anything away from anyone on stage ,but that Sax player mannnn . That was absolutely frickin awesome .

This has got to be one of Marcus Millers best live performances I've ever seen.

Marcus Miller composing, performing (on two instruments) and dancing to his own song is AWESOME!!!! Without dipping my foot into anything political, that piece, Goree made me actually feel what Marcus described prior. When I hear the song, I can hear the melancholy transforming into transcendence. One of the most expressive songs I have ever heard. Feels like I understand just a little better. And the way Marcus and Alex played it..... No words. Thanks guys. Unbelievable performance.

This is possibly the best musical production I have ever seen. I have been a musician for 15 years. The composition of the orchestra is amazing all the parts blend so well! Great selection of musicians. Almost no conflicts with the mix of the soundboard or diversity of instruments. INSANE PRODUCTION WOW!!!! f word

Goree is my favorite here. The song really fits with the backstory. The orchestra and the slow horn play by Marcus successfully delivered the first part with a sad, gloomy sensation that coincides with slavery, then followed by hope and joy for a new era when the captives left the island. Alex Han was insane, no wonder why Marcus danced like crazy. Also, the bass at the end of the song by Marcus was really wonderful.

Musically, this concert should be on everyone's bucket list. This is jazz ("instrumental soul") at its finest! Hope everyone was able to listen to this performance on quality speakers. I downloaded the free FxSound equalizer app from Microsoft, and after adjusting the settings a bit, the sound delivered through my 25-year-old computer speakers was truly amazing!!!

This particular song had me in my feelings because of how Mr.Marcus shared a jewel in the form of what inspired his writing and composition of a fine piece that can manipulate ones imagination to such transformation per generation to generations! I Love it!!!

I always figured Marcus Miller was one of those technical studio musician types that I'd read about in Bass Player Magazine. A quality player who had the chops to do anything. But seeing this at 51 years old... I realize that while I was on many musical journeys as a musician and as a fan alike... I completely overlooked this modest genius magister of musical vortexes. Even the written music seems like a prop for those who know that a road map is only a distraction from the most authentic journey ahead. This is crazy good. On so many levels. Respect.
