This was the sight of interrogation room 104, where 19-year-old Marcus Fischer sat as he was accused of robbery and assault. But what got this interrogation so heated was not the questions nor the confession, but a knife that made its way inside. In this video we’re taking you through the interrogation of Marcus Fischer and how he snuck a knife into an interrogation.
On December 13th, 2017, Marcus met with a man he did not know in Northeast Minneapolis in order to purchase a gun. The man was trying to sell him a Kel-Tech 9mm handgun to Fischer when he pulled out his own gun and "said words to the effect of 'It's mine now,' shot the victim in the chest and left the scene”.
The bullet grazed the man’s heart and lodged into his lung, causing him to go into acute respiratory arrest in the ambulance. After some extreme measures were taken, the man survived but did not know who the shooter was. After the investigation ran its course, he was able to identify one of the six suspects as the shooter and that person was Marcus Fischer. On December 18th, Marcus was brought in for interrogation which turns out wasn’t his first time.

I'm an ER doctor. You might be surprised at how often paramedics or other medical professionals either think someone is dead when they aren't or don't notice that the patient died / stopped breathing while standing right next to them. There are various errors that contribute to this, but the two most common is a phenomena known as "anchoring bias" and "confirmation bias". Anchoring bias is a tendency to rely heavily on the first piece of information you hear. Confirmation bias is the tendency to see new information as consistent with and supportive of what you already believe to be true. It works like this. Someone is severely injured or is near death from a medical condition. A bystander calls 911 and says "I found a dead body" or "there was a motorcycle accident... ughhh... this guy is dead." The information is relayed to emergency services, who then expect to see a dead person. When they arrive, they look at the victim. Maybe he is covered in blood or has grievous injuries or appears not to be breathing. There might be some subtle signs that the victim is not dead, but these are overlooked (if he is dead, why is he still bleeding) or discounted (did I just feel a very weak pulse there? No, I think that was just my own pulse). It is very important to follow your usual procedures and to make your own independent assessments every single time. Have you ever noticed that when at doctor's office or ER, you get asked the same questions 4 times by 4 different people? Many patients see this as a sign of disorganization and get frustrated by it. The fact of the matter is that I do know what the secretary / nurse / referring physician says is going on, but I'm asking you anyway for a specific reason. Oh, and wear a seatbelt / helmet!

Within a minute of that cop leaving, the suspect had a drink of water from a bottle, took a gun from in front of his trousers, stuck the gun in his mouth and expired himself. After a police inquiry, both cops thought one of the other cops had already searched him.

So he did not identify one of the six suspects. In a photo lineup, there is one suspect, and 5 mugshots of ppl who match the description, but are not suspects.

Sometimes if there are multiple known armed robbers, the suspect photo line-up could include multiple potential suspects operating in a given area. Like known felons with prior armed robbery offenses living in the area might be shown to see if a victim recognizes any as the shooter

Interesting how he was able to get a knife in. Whenever you're placed under arrest, you're supposed to be patted down from head to toe, and then once more before entering the the police barracks or station. Somebody didn't do their dudiligence and got a little too lax, especially considering he's a murder suspect.
@user-peach408

If not already under arrest, they don’t usually search someone they are just interviewing. I think anyone going pass the entrance to a law enforcement agency should go through a metal detector and should be searched.

He was using what was essentially a shiv made of hardened glass that has been chipped into a blade. It wouldn't set off a metal detector. He was planning on this if he couldn't lie his way out of the shooting.

@@mikesanders8621 It was nothing more than accidental that he didn't die while executing his 'plan'. To even call it a plan, rather than random, aimless desperation, is a bit far, but yeah, he is pretty evil. Thats an interesting fact about the shiv. I thought they showed a picture of a knife.
