We complain about the rain over here in the UK but when it rains in Asia, it RAINS. I have a fear of monkeys after an unpleasant experience in Gibraltar 20 years ago. Loving the vlog. Looking forward to the next stop. Never cruised with Marella but heard a lot of good things about them. Celebrity and Royal Caribbean pricing is just crazy at the moment too, so maybe one to think about.
Yes, we carried a mini umbrella each, every day! The monkeys were fine as long as you left them alone. Marella are well worth considering. Great itineraries.
I was on a Perth to Singapore via Bali, Kl, Penang, Lankwali, Phuket then back down. the straits of Malaka into Singapore where I spent 3 nights. Being from Perth the ship was mainly Australian pax. The most disorganised travellers in the world. I did the Twin Towers tour and having researched knew you have to book well in advance, I booked 2-3 months in advance. II was the only one on the ship that got to duo it as the Aussies think you can just turn up. One same me coming out of the tour and asked how I got on it. Told them you have o book months in advance. Wow what a view from that observation deck too, and you get to walk on the sky bridge too 🙂
When we went to Asia with Marella cruises, we did a few trips with Marella, we were taken to a nice hotel in Vietnam and it was local and international food, and when we went to Thailand pretty much the same buffet style. the worst place was when we went to Barbados and did a trip which could only be done if we flying home, we should have just stayed on board
Bravo Andy & Kirstie, fabulous video. So evocative of the sights and sounds, especially strolling into Batu Caves. Your cruise videos are almost unique in their National Geographic style of film making. Lovely to see.
How long was the drive to KL ? The steps don’t seem so bad, but people don’t get the humidity unless you have been there and how that affects you. You know what you should have with dessert , dessert wine 😊
It was a fairly boring 1hr 30mins drive into KL. Agreed, you have to experience the humidity on top of the high temperature to appreciate how uncomfortable it is. Dessert wine sounds like a plan!

Thanks Andy & Kirstie,loved this vlog.I'd love to go to the far east one day,I'm enjoying your restaurant food reviews up to now,I'm glad you managed a full English breakfast,I couldn't face one early morning when we were on Discovery 2 last summer,so we just went in Island buffet and either sat inside or near the pool,I managed ham and cheeses or fruit most mornings lol

Especially when you went to Kotor - that place is just amazing. Infact, I was there with my friend in June of the same year as you. Please keep your videos ongoing as I am now an avid watcher. We was on Marella Discovery 2 last October, fab cruise around Spain Italy and France, great evening entertainment and friendly staff ( always helpful and smiling) ....our first cruise and a 2nd booked for next year, have fun and safe travels guys x
