This song is more about "feeling" the lines, and thus is a difficult one to translate. I'm not overly confident in what I did, but hopefully I got some of the authors meaning across. You know the song is hard when you ask like 4 Japanese natives and they all say it's "nonsense" lol.

I love how unique this sounds compared to Miku's normal voice. The lower pitch is so much rarer to hear in songs for her.

*Disillusioned* is defined as being disappointed in someone or something when you discover it is a lie or not as good as you thought it was. The person singing the song was in love with the *idea* of who their crush was and not who their crush *actually* was. When their feelings were returned and they started to get to know their crush more, they realized loving them wasn't as easy as they thought it would be.

***** I don't think it's bad at all. We all have our quirks. As for the song I agree with you. When I was discussing it with said co-workers they were saying that it felt like the song was a relationship between like best friends when one fell in love with the other.

i have noticed that all his songs are about love or the products of love. but not in the traditional sense he talks about the fucked up parts that can come from love * teen pregnancy and players * homophobia * denial * pedophilia * stalking * feeling the need to give up virginity to keep a relationship * breakups that cause hatred for years pretty interesting

I have a theory. This isn't a nonsense song at all. Like stated in the description, the first part is more about feeling the lyrics. These are the things one goes through while having a secret crush on someone: "concealing" their feelings, "watching" them from afar, feeling as if you two have a connection, you're "connected." You have these feelings for this person; you get jealous when others are with them, you start to look at them as "mine," though you know that they're not, hence the questioning tone in which the word was spoken. You want them to notice you, or "notice me." You begin to feel stressed and sad because this person doesn't feel the same way, putting yourself down; they don't notice you. Deep down, the logical part of yourself tells you that you're exaggerating the pain, that this shouldn't hurt so much, but it does.

+WhateverThatMeans I just... don't understand that kind of people. Why would they reject someone that loves them so badly ? Because they're grossed out ? But because of what ? This isn't gross at all. Falling in love is quite common. And even if they don't feel the same, no need to insult them and bully that person. They maybe take it as an opportunity to crush someone and feel superior. But if it's the case, they're the worst. Feelings is not some kind of a toy. Anyway... I hope he'll eventually leave you alone.

Or basically just spying connected = The memories they once shared and the "love" mine? = The fact that (S)he was once just her(his) and were dating. (Also connects to the next lyric) Soon, it’ll be too painful to see. I gently remember all that we’ve done together = They have a feeling that they're going to break up soon and very soon.. And it's going to be painful to remember all the memories.. What goes up must come down, unfinished promise = The other broke many promises in their relationship.. (Wait. That’s too frightening…!) = Some of those promises were too important and really were frightening to look upon. Thinking about spending time = nothing really to explain, says it itself. But it can also mean that they're thinking of spending time together so they can reunite the spark they "once had". Tomorrow with you, laughing with you = Missing the memories and can also mean they miss the meaningful things they use to have/talk about/use to do. I’m unable to tell you the truth = She(he) feels if they tell the truth... the other will feel weirded out.. *It can also be the view of the other person in the relationship... that they're afraid to tell the truth that they don't want to be with the other person anymore. So that the end may be delayed = *Meaning that it goes along quite well with the other person's point of view. + Or that the other girl(boy) wants to.... go... away... due to not wanting to feel this pain anymore. (Basically killing themselves..) How long, do I have to progress so painfully slow…? = Meaning that how long do they have to wait for the other to say how they really feel. It's definitely not nonsense. the main idea is, Miku is in love with someone but doesn't have the courage to tell them so the anxiety get to her head. I don't really get the "why was I born? because?" part tho. This song hits home tho. I'm low-key in love with one of my freinds and he's well aware but I have no idea how he feels because he's really shy and doesn't open up much. I'm stuck wondering if he likes me for real or only takes pity on me. That's the idea I got from the song, could be way off.

I always got the feeling that this song was about an unrequited love and an obsessed/stalker-ish lover who just desperately wanted to be loved and noticed by his/her love interest. The more desperate (s)he becomes, the less sense (s)he makes and the more insane (s)he seems, even going to the extent of kidding him/herself into believing that they're in a relationship and making "fun memories" and spending every day together, when in reality (s)he's stalking them and they doesn't even know (s)he's there.

I don't really think of this song specifically as "yandere", I sort of identify with it a bit. The feeling you get when you like someone, but you are either too shy or afraid to tell them. So you try to befriend them, but even after all your efforts, they don't seem to notice your feelings for them, and you can't find yourself capable of telling them. sometimes instead of befriending them, you don't even talk to them at all, so it is even worse. If they are single you feel pressured to get them before anyone else does, when they are in a relationship you want them to break up, sometimes thinking about ways to get them to break up, but at the end realise it is wrong, so all you can do is watch how he/she treats someone the way you want them to treat you, so you might fantasise about them loving you or being loving towards you. This is what I get from this song, im not saying it means this, it's just my representation of it, I think everyone can relate to that desperation you feel when you want to tell someone about your feelings but aren't able to because of fearing it

I can really relate to this song. There is this person I'm desperate to be friends with but, I'm to shy and anxious to talk to them, so I kind of want them to come to me or I want them to notice me. Ive felt this for so long that I'm starting to get obbsessed with them. I get jealous at times when they make posts about their friends or talk about their friends publicly...it almost hurts, to see that person I like having such a wonderful time with their friends...and not me, it makes me feel ignored or unwanted but most of the time I put myself down for thinking these thoughts... I hope someday that shy feeling goes away and I could have courage to ask them to be friends...

This feels like my life. At first, all I was looking for a boyfriend. Then, a guy finally asked me out. I couldn't accept because I was too scared to say yes. Then we became friends and I still had an undying crush on him... Then, the crush became worse and worse, when every time I would think of him I would cry when I would think about not being with him... Then he got a girlfriend, and I cried.... But then they broke up... But he would still talk about other girls... Then finally, after months of being friends he finally asked me out... I said yes finally, and it's nice being with him... It doesn't help that I constantly ponder of my existence living... And now weve broken up...

The way I view this song is that it's overlapping two stories at once. One is about a mother and child, the other is about the mother and her lover. When she says "Mine?" She's talking about her kid, but also about what her boyfriend/lover (whatever) thinks about her. And "Notice me" is the child talking to the mother who is distracted by her pitiful life from being too attached to her old lover and at the same time the mother wanting her old lover to notice her. That's why the song ends with "our happy times have ended...why was I born?" Some verses are more exclusively about the mother-child relationship, and others are about the mother-lover relationship, because in the mother's mind, the child is a problem, but the lover who rejected her is the problem too, but she knows in her heart that she is the problem who can't do anything for herself or her child. So that's one side of the "illusion" and the other side is who is the one who is really acting like a child here? So there are two neglectful people, two victims, two perpetrators, and the girl to lover failure is mirrored in the child to mother relationship. Each lyric in the song can have two answers like "why am I progressing so slowly" is the child in school who progresses slowly because of troubles at home, and also the mother who can't move on and build a real future for herself and her child.

I think this song is about a girl who is deeply in love with a boy and they are friends for a very long time. The girl constantly does things for him to notice her, always thinking he liked her back. She doesn't have the courage to ask him out, because of the consequences of him saying no. The girl always thought that he would eventually ask her out but never did. Soon the boy gets a girlfriend who isn't her, and the girl try's to get over him but can't. She gets mad at herself and the girl who's with him but keeps the pain inside knowing she may never have him. I can relate to this song ;-;

I'm seeing so many interpretations with definitive storylines, but to me this song is meant to be taken as strangely as it's phrased. It reminds me of how my own thought process works as someone with ASD and ADHD. I have many complex thoughts at once, and the ones that are translatable into actual words often play out like this. Singular words that are barely attached to eachother, then sudden bursts in verboseness that soon after retreat to just simple phrasing once again. This translation of the song feels like my thought process when remembering a friend I no longer speak with, simple feelings and memories spiraling into a question of identity and existence.

I believe this song actually comes before coin locker baby. The real title of this song is 'do you wanna bear my baby'. The line "why was I born" is actually "why was it born" which makes it all much clearer. I wish the meaning wasn't lost :/

Perhaps we have to have experienced a similar feeling to see past the "nonsense." After reading the translation, I felt I could understand it. A sort of longing for love situation, but once in it, it's a small high that does down and keeps us dissatisfied. And we regret it. We finally get into the situation we wanted and now we've grown disgusted of that situation. We're regretful and sorry because we know that's what we wanted. But now? What do we want..? Maybe the happy memories are all we needed to make and that's as far as we want to handle.

As people said, this song it's not nonsense at all. I see this as hardships in love as well. Falling in love with someone you seemingly can't have, being unable to confess, feeling insecure because you may be not good enough or "exaggerating the pain" and, in the end, discovering that this person is not right for you, becoming disillusioned and distanced I didn't get the part with "Why was I born" at first too, but now, listening to it. I think it doesn't refer to "me", but probably the "memories"mentioned in previous line. "Why did we have fun together? Why did I fall for you in the first place? Why do these memories exist? Well, that's because...". But there's no answer. These feelings and these memories became meaningless, you can't even remember. Sadly, it feels relatable

My recent crush is probably this situation. I'm a really insecure person, and I fell for a guy who seemed nice and cool to me. I'm used to feel nervous around him, always wondering how to strike a conversation or what's on his mind. I cried a lot 'cause I seemingly couldn't handle my feelings and often felt jealous (he already has a girlfriend, but did that stop me?). Still, at some point, I decided to tell my feelings, and, of course, I got rejected. But, coming back to all of this, I begin to think that all of my feelings weren't worth it. In all of our conversations he replied shortly, like he wasn't interested in me at all, though he told me that everything's fine (I learned that he has this awful habit of hiding true feelings. I probably will never know how he truly feels about me). Even in the moment of confession I recall that I had to explain that I told him my feelings because I wanted to know what he thinks, and it's probably not good at all. I was really the only one to laugh when we were alone, and all of "nice" moments when he just asked me if I was okay, weren't this special as I thought. I feel conflicted, because I'm becoming disillusioned about this guy not just as a crush, but as a whole person, though he really didn't do anything wrong to me. He's just like that. And still, as much as I think that I have to get over it, I don't want to, as if there won't be any other chances. And... This situation is probably just me, making this seem like a tragedy of "Romeo and Juliet" level, but it's really just an unrequited crush - something that everyone has been through.

i interpreted a theme of ‘opening up= being susceptible to pain’ or ‘admitting love = admitting defeat,’ probably because thats how i feel personally. when it comes to telling someone you love them and making that bond official, it feels as if the end is in sight, because you actually have ‘something’ to end. opening up is hard, and part of the anxiety that comes with it is the inevitability of being let down. “im unable to tell you the truth so that the end may be delayed.”

This song is about a relationship falling apart or out of love with the other person. It could also been a relationship turned into a toxic one and the singer had enough of it so she/he/they decide to break up with the other person. Temporary solutions are ways to fix it but not fix it completely. When the singer says that he/she/they were so glad that they felt their kindness in the beginning of the relationship before it got worse meaning that the relationship used to be so good until it all went downhill, the singer finally breaking up with them cause during the song the partner was seeing another person instead of the singer, the singer says “notice me” it means that the partner wasn’t noticing her/him/them, causing stress to she/he/they. This song can be taken to many different levels but this is just my opinion of this song.

I know it's been like years since this song came out but after listening to this song I feel like it's continued with the song Darling. Mainly because I feel like the end part where it goes "The fun memories we've made have suddenly stopped" means that the girl sees competition for the person's attention. This causes them to take extreme measures which ultimately made her "strong impulses" finally come out. Which brings it to the start of Darling. Which is basically a yandere song. Where the girl lashes out at anyone who dares to take the person's attention away.

TW: STALKERS AND MENTIONS OF MURDER SORRY THIS IS REALLY BADLY WRITTEN i understand it perfectly in my head but i just. can't write it down my take on this?? personally, i feel as if the singer is an extremely antisocial person until they encounter "their beloved". unable to tell them how they feel, they stalk their every move and watch, their feelings of both romantic and anguished obsession building up. they want to be in a relationship with that person, but don't believe they're good enough- so they continue to watch. eventually their obsession is too much for them to handle, and for lack of better phrasing, go up to them in some sort of way and unintentionally murder them to get rid of the worries that might come if they reject them (i suspect it's suffocation, as "i'm so glad i felt your kindness!!" implies some physical contact) the memories have stopped, and a question hits them. they've forgotten why they were born. they lived for their beloved, the only thing that mattered in their life, and killed them. nothing matters to them anymore

I think this song actually makes a lot of sense. My interpretation/ theory is that someone (I'll just say miku) has a secret crush on someone and is experiencing unrequited love. (someone else in the comments already went through the first part of the song) Adding on to their theory, in the second part of the song miku talks about how she fell in love with this person at first sight. "coming together" meaning she befriended this person. She's "sorry for being so weak up until now" meaning she feels bad towards herself for being too nervous (weak) to talk to them before. They spend time together, becoming closer and "soon, it'll be too painful" for miku to see them and keep hiding the love that continues to grow for them. "What goes up must come down", Right now she feels so happy being able to be friends with them but she knows their friendship won't last and she's frightened by this thought. (I'm guessing that the crush has completely platonic feelings for miku and they're "just friends") "I'm unable to tell you the truth so that the end may be delayed", Miku is too scared to confess her true feelings because she is sure it will ruin their friendship. As they continue to progress through their friendship, miku hopes that her friend will develop feelings for her too and she wonders how long she will have to keep hiding her true feelings until that happens, "how long, do I have to act the part until this "love" come true?" Although she's extremely nervous she finally confronts her romantic feelings, "I want to place my head up against yours", and decides to confess. She confesses then says "I want to know what you think!" She gets rejected and as she walks back home she is still so glad to have felt their kindness and had all those happy times together. After her confession they grew apart and stopped making fun memories together.

My theory: (HEEEAAAAAVY TW) Girl falls in love, never gets crushed on by him, probably cuts or talks herself down(the temporary fixes part), she finally gets close to him, kills him, does the yk what with his body, and then is happy(ie the "I'm so glad I could feel your kindness!") and then at the end she regrets her decision and realizes she'll never meet him again.

Personally i don't listen to music for its meaning or lyrics. Which is why i barely remember any mainstream songs despite hearing them everyday on the radio. This is also the reason why I prefer non-vocal music like classics and lofi. I also think this is why I like japanese music, I have no idea what's going on yet the rhythm and beat with its pure originality just sound so nice.

i feel like this song is supposed to be about being so obsessed with the concept of love, loving someone and being part of them that you progressively lose your sense of self. The lyrics almost always revolve around a relation between the singer and another person. then there's the haunting part at the end, with the lyrics reading "Why was I born in this world ? Well, that's because... ...?", and a haunting faraway noise cutting the melody away. to me, this feels like the singer broke from their obsession with love, and now finds themselves unable to even understand who they are anymore.
