Exactly what i was thinking that those who are gifted when it comes to writing should write all this rich information and archive it for the coming generations because these heroes are going out with all these untold stories.
Mr Trevor, this is one of the most inspiring shows I have ever watched. This woman is intelligent, she brims confidence and values that we should all aspire to have. I love the way she splashes humor regularly the entire conversation. She is so articulate and emotionally present. She still has a very important part to play in the betterment of our country. Cant wait for part two of the conversation.
Honestly, the lady sacrificed alot . Imagine your form two daughter informing you 'This is my last holiday with you' ' it teared me up. Thank you Bhudi for recognizing our heroine , I always reflect on her contribution towards the issue of Lookout Masuku's reburial and hero's status. We find our Ubuntu pride in you .
This conversation left me with teared eyes towards the end, reflected that there a number of people who died to liberate a whole generation of youths who are so so passive to national developmental issues.
Great interview Trevor. I feel Margie has a lot to unpack. Part 2 and 3 please. Lets hear more about, where we went wrong,How she thinks the country should be run, whats her political standing is at the moment. We used to call her ,"The controvercial Margaret " when we were school going age. Its good to see that she is still brave to speak her mind.
Trever,i don't know where you were rushing to but this is one of the best conversations you ever had....please bring her back, she can go for 3 hrs it's fi e
I was a kid then (now in my mid 30s), there is this lady who is holding ground, a strong voice as the opposition. She was beautiful, l saw my mom; eloquent and intelligent. Dear God bless her as she lives to tell Zimbabwe’s story, a story abt herself too. Thanks trevor for having such icons on the show. However, please allow such stories to be told in full. To that effect how abt pt 2 to this ICONIC LADY, what’s she up to, what’s she seeing, big lessons in our day please. Fey
I was inspired by Cde Margret Dongo's story. She is so down to earth with life. She is a living heroine with the people of Zimbabwe at heart. Keep it up Cde Margret Dondo
Can we kindly have more of her please , also if you could put some subtitles when she speaks the beautiful language Shona , very inspiring discussion and thought provoking. Thank you Trevor for giving true heroes their platform 😊
One of your best interviews ever Trevor. I had to watch till the end and was left wanting to hear more. She is a heroine and a brave daughter of Zimbabwe
Mkoma Trevor, we need a part 2 for our galant living Heroine, l can sit all day and listen to her wise words, for the Zimbabwe we want. Hers is a sad story, yet so valiant she believed in a free democratic society of equals. Much respect to our galant War Veterans 🇿🇼👏👏👏👏
This was enlightening and, thank you so much Margaret for sharing the story of your life. This will definitely inspire a lot of people, especially the girl child. Mukoma Trevor, without fail, we need her back in the studio sooner rather than later.
A long over due interview. Margaret Dongo is a true patriot. What a great interview Trevor! Another important record for future generations. Yes you must have her back on. We need more inside info on how zpf works and what hope there is for the future. Also what her honest opinion is on the other triple C she never discussed😉
I have been waiting for this interview for quite a long time, You never cease to impress and inspire Mhamha. Without you, I am a zero. I would have liked the interview to be longer!!!!
Mukoma Trevor nhasi mapedza masports. I watched this interview 3 times (I swear I have never done that before). i am a born-free and unfocused youth but this is way better than watching Mai Tt's scripted drama meant to divert the attention of the unfocused youths. This is the first time I publicly heard someone owning up about the abuse that women went through during the struggle. I vividly remember watching the movie Flame Lily in the 90s which briefly touched on this subject. I believed it when I saw it on that movie although I had never heard anyone talk about it. Our heroines have a lot to say, they need a voice, their stories need to be documented and a good movies need to come out of it. Thank you for bringing Cde Margie. I do concur, a part 2 and good movie is needed.
I love her. She is a force!! I don't think we will ever have a generation that will be as brave and courageous🙌🏾 Now Simon Chimbetu's song Zimbabwe makes a whole different kind of sense after listening to this.
Worth the wait. Thank you for reminding us about the sacrifice made for the people of Zimbabwe and more importantly what a representative is meant to be.
Trevor please bring all key people even the president, vp even army commanders post and present. I enjoy your conversations you unpack a lot we didntbknow about people's struggles
True indeed Magret Dongo has done her part when she was trying to bring the politics of the 21st century but it was difficult for citizens that time to understand her well. I remember very well when she was the member of parliament for sunningdale. She worked for her constituency
Trevor Margaret is voice for whom we have all day to listen to. Please consider inviting her back. I stopped everything I was doing to listen to her every word. Our country has an opportunity to hear the 1st hand accounts of how we got to this moment and use the baton to move forward. Thank you for inviting Margaret a true heroine
I have been waiting for this gallant fighter, for a long time to speak, I am glad she is a heroine and, hope sunning dale will always honour her with befitting merits she deserves
Thank you for the conversation. More and much more thanks to the Veterans for their sacrifices. However, for me, we now must acknowledge that, indeed, the gvt has done quite a lot in show of gratitude to the veterans. True, the majority of them are living in poverty, BUT, that is not to say they were not given the capacity at one time. There are a lot of intervention measures the gvt took to empower and thank them, among them free basic and tertiary education in early independence years, the gratuities that among others, helped bankrupt the country, the land reform and allocations they got. This crybaby mentality should stop and people start to become responsible for their actions. There is no government that can be everything to everyone! The empowerment they were given in all those interventions, infact should place them well ahead in their social and economic standing today. If there is something maybe for the government to do now, is to ensure they are better equiped for economic participation by way of knowledge. Then they pull themselves up by their own bootstraps!!!!!
Thank you for bringing this up Margaret Even out of training camps in the communities where the vanamukomas were operating young girls as young as 12 were being abused and raped willy nilly They didn't care. Recently we have been allegations of statutory rape by Mnangagwa to Susan Mutami and Themba Mliswa is tyring by all means to protect Mnangagwa and silence the nation. Thank you for bringing the abuse issues up I wish those affected from the camps could be brave enough to say it all. They deserve justice
My biggest take away from this profound conversation is that our problems do not need a politician. As the slogan says "iwe neni tinebasa". Thank you for the show
I am surprised that we have been talking of women's rights but not even the women who have been under severe suppression (kumbunyikidzwa kwakanyanyisa) have the courage to deal with the real atrocities.
This is arguably one of your best interviews Trevor. The story of what really happened during the One Party state inception era of the late 80s and early 90s needs to be told from an independent point of view.
1995, almost all UZ students were supporting her, Dongo For President! including the then student leaders like Brian Kagore, War lord etc. Then we were tear gassed, and the UZ closed for a week.
Must have been the same year when cops were alleged to have accidentally shot bystanders (as they pursued robbers, in George Silundika, close to the Police Post... in protest students brought Harare to a standstill. Harare resembled a war zone after those demos...
@@lukachapeyama, yes, I was there. We pulled a dead young vendor, just opposite the main old former central Post office, and someone, burned the police car.
Well done my brother for bringing this gamba reZimbabwe. I am eternally indebted to Cde Margaret for her advice and support during some dark periods of my life in the 80s.
The best interview Trevor. Brutally honest and very in lightening. Leant a lot and would love to hear more from Cde Marget. Wish we had more politicians like her. Tadzidza zvakawanda and please bring her back for part 2. With all that has happened in our country we have lost focus and takanganwa kwatakabva, every once in a while we like to be reminded of our roots zvisiri zveginya. Love her.
My all time heroine...Please bring her back again we need part 2...She is so full of information..These are the kind of leaders we need in bodies like ZEC..Also bring Mai Mujuru too
what an insightful conversation , such a pity we do not have many politicians who genuinely believe in working for the nation like Cde Dongo . The revolution was lost with the overshadowing of the liberation command by the political wing . Enjoyed this episode bro Trevor thank you
She clearly said little developments in these three yrs and gave an example of Beatrice road which was on the plan for decades. She mentioned as well the Chitungwiza railway line as an example meaning there is little dev, saying Chitungwiza railway line project could have been given to an investor as a turn-in-key project or a lease. Mugabe gvt nd the current republic didn’t do so due to love of the kickbacks etc. Also the mentioning of little developments she did doesn’t necessarily mean she is defending the corruption which is going on wt it, she criticised the system here and there if my memory saves me well. Yes there is little dev tho not in line or proportions wt the output of our natural resources and it’s not meaningful at the moment l do agree % with u bro. The projects are paid more than the actual costs ie double if not treble hence the need to harness the leakages and do more projects.
What an insightful conversation. Unfortunately the Host appeared to be in a rush and failed to afford Mai Dongo ample time to share her first hand liberation ordeal.
