Time 3:20 - I thought the edited version had vanished but i revived it. The Top 15 are also included! Maybe i need to take a trip to Margaritaville ! Sounds like fun !
By "revived it", do you mean that you recreated it from the album version or that you found an actual copy of the 45 single version? I seem to remember the shorter version having slightly different vocals but I could be wrong. I heard a shorter version back in the late 80s on a local radio station and it seemed it ran a little faster pace too.
I think it is the actual copy of the 45 Single version as I downloaded the song from the Whitburn group who try to get actual 45 single versions. I compared this version to the one played in an American Top 40 Countdown from 1977 when "Margaritaville" was in the TOP 40 and they match so I am almost 98% sure this is the correct 45 version because today most oldies stations opt for the longer cut. In the 80's, a lot of radio stations were notorious for speeding up audio & maybe that is why it ran at a faster pace. Thanks for the interesting question ! Very observant person you are :)
I think you're right. I believe what I was hearing is this single version sped up 3-4 percent. I know that version I heard had the "Some people say there's a woman to blame but I know it's my own damn fault" sung once at the end and not twice like the versions I have on CD.
