Margo is one of our greatest legends with such a unique talent. Her entire show was refreshing and so, so enjoyable that I could have listened to for a much longer time period, it was wonderful as was her unique rendition of James Connolly.

i heard margo sing this in the summer of 1979 in the hollyrood bundoran.She sang it without music and there was total silence while she was singing. One of the best artists ever

Brilliant! I was fortunate to see Margo performing in a remote place in Donegal on 10th August 2013, a place called Aislann Rann Na Feirste. On a visit to Donegal, we came across posters while looking around Dungloe. We consulted maps and locals to find out where Aislann Rann Na Feirste was, as we'd never heard of it before!! We were so glad we decided to go and travel through the narrow roads. What a performance, and we also saw the legendary Frank McCaffrey performing at the same Concert.

my mammy loves margo singing, she was meant to go to her concert in tullamore but nanny had a seroius operation in st james and couldnt go, the second time mammy was meant to go, my nanny was in st lukes hospital so mammy said thirrd time lucky...

She deliberately left out that verse and changed the the line IRA ,to irish soldiers ,typical free stater not wanting to upset the engish she sings it well but she should sing the right words

James Connolly would be proud of that rendition. If only we had heroes like Connolly & Pearse these days. Instead we have to make do with Martin, Varadker & McDonald. Definitely no songs about them.

Jimmy Jay Do you know how many children the British army abused maimed and killed in the north of Ireland from 1969 until the 1990s ? Oglaigh na hEireann stood up for their people and communities while others turned their heads away from the oppression of a loyalist state backed by a military super power. The cowards were those who sat and spoke about it not those who took action. Remember in life one bad deed is usually met with another. The British army had no regard for any catholic/ nationalist life in Ireland. Thankfully our heroic men and women who fought for our beloved Ireland were NEVER defeat !

Lovely song and we'll find Margo. However, can I ask why does Margo sing, " The Four Courts of Dublin, the ENEMY bombarded" when everyone knows it's, The English bombarded. I mean.....do we have to be so politically correct??????
