What a strange time (for me) to stumble upon this one. There's so much stuff happening in my life right now... life-changing moments. And i find this. Hmmm... Fate is sophisticated.
i recently found a track from kenya: "mungu halali" by blinky bill and i like it a lot - when i asked, what the title means, i was told: god never sleeps... :-)
Strange man, strange man Why won't you leave me alone Cause the next time you'll be here I'm gonna walk, I'm gonna walk out, and lock my door Your soul is what you make it, that is everywhere you go I could never make you love it and I could never change, Your soul is what you make it that is everywhere you go I could never make you love it and I could never change, Your soul is what you make it that is everywhere you go Strange day, strange day Why won't you leave me alone Cause the next time you'll be here I'm gonna walk, I'm gonna walk out, lock my door Your soul is what you make it that is everywhere you go I could never make you love it and I could never change, Your soul is what you make it, that is everywhere you go I could never make you love it and I could never change, Your soul is what you make it that is everywhere you go
@@RafaelR-F ganz genau, I couldn't nail what he was doing with the bass changes, I just felt it. This nuance is what separates Ricardo from others. Nuance. Delicate & sensitive handling of the entire spectrum of sound. Master.
IT'S HIS STYLE, IF HE DIDN'T MAKE THESE "MINIMAL MEASURES" PRESENT IN EVERY OF HIS TRACKS, IT WOULD BE TOO BORING TO DANCE OR LISTEN TO MORE THAN 15 MINUTES OF TRACKS WITHOUT GETTING BORED, BESIDES BEYOND TASTE, BUT ALSO WITH A SPEED OF BPM SLOW, BUT IT IS OBVIOUSLY HIS GENRE, BUT HE IS STILL A GENIUS BECAUSE HE ALWAYS HAS THESE MULTIPLE ACES UP HIS SLEEVE THAT ONLY AN ATTENTIVE AND ABSOLUTE EAR CAN PERCEIVE.... GREAT WORK...."AS ALWAYS OBVIOUSLY!!!" """
@@guidoemiliano5007 These albums: Vocalcity by Luomo Songs From the Beehive byMove D & Benjamin Brunn Loop Finding Jazz Records by Jan Jelinek. That'll hold you for a while.
If you like this, there is an amazing set by Suciu curated by Kaufland (write that in youtube). Nobody is able to make it as psychedelic and mindblowing as him in that set. The way he plays with the music there is just something else. I would definitely equate its quality to this Villalobos set, but it is more on the crazy psychedelic mindblowing side while this holds on the artistic and beautiful one.
very true .. one of the few tracks that you need to listen to from start to finish .. ... damn why doesnt itunes let me download it again? do i really have to go through my old HDDs ? :x
@@vokuh Ei man, there is nothing more sad than having one of those super old vice documentaries or one of your favourite songs removed because of a radom reason. It really hits you when you have a 20 video playist in which you have the best of the best, and one day you come in to see that 2 say "deleted" in the name and thumbnail. Dont go through that, and download what is truly special.
How did this end between you and your neighbors? Did you manage to enjoy this track together on a sunny rainy day? While you both were tripping balls of your Cornflakes special K?
Had such lovely time with some people listening this one...and have all life for more 😊😊 don't you even try to loossing it Ricardo there is shite load of music nowdays 😂😂
@gnutscha and your problem with that would be? Someone is say that someone would decline this... if you net mean it's so, why the interest in it? Would be nonsense...
I remember there were a lot of copies of this one at vinyl shops back in the days, no one wanted to catch this because it was overhyped, every weekend in every party dj played this so everyone was fed up with this song... Now it's 200 euros on discogs 😭😭😭
right now this song is singlehandedly making me wanna become a dj and I'll be a digital dj because fuck elitism and also I'm broke, so shut up n fuckin dance cuz I'm playing this entire fuckin tune
Digital DJing is just as "real" for DJs who board 3-5 planes a week to play at parties all over the world. Can't be doing that and hauling around boxes full of vinyls.
sebastian sfeci But is it really? don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that digital DJ's are fake, its just I feel that a vinyl just sounds better and that is where a DJ should learn their trade. Anyone can stand there and play a pre recorded set (Guetta) and wave there hands about, anyone can stand there and use autosync and mix perfectly. You know a good DJ when they are mixing vinyl, there may be little mistakes with mixing and syncing the tracks but this adds to the sound and shows its raw music, none of this computer generated EDM stuff that's floating about at the minute. Also some of the best music is not available digitally, one of the reasons why Troxler prefers vinyl. Also, there is a video around on you tube which shows how much quality is lost when a piece of music is compressed into an MP3, very interesting article actually, you lose a lot of the actual rhythm. Lets forget all this arguing anyway and enjoy the music, that's ultimately what we're all here for. Raw Minimal house music at its Best. Villalobos never fails to amaze!
mason27011993 I agree with everything you said, I just think it's important to take into consideration the logistical difficulties to playing purely vinyl when someones playing, say, Ibiza on a wednesday and Playa del Carmen on a Friday. Obviously in an ideal world this wouldn't be an issue as vinyl definitely sounds and feels more authentic, I just don't think that it's a realistic expectation given the worldwide appeal our beautiful music and the top DJs are enjoying at the moment. Most of my favorite DJs I haven't heard at their residency (except this summer in Ibiza) and I've still loved the parties even though they were mixing digital with a vinyl thrown in here and there for good measure. Obviously the EDM/Big Room scene is a different story, but then again people who go to these parties are not really interested in such nuances as digital vs. analog and just wanna go out and party. And theres nothing wrong with that, it's just a different demographic. I agree though if we want to be pedantic I think EDM shows should be called stage performances rather than DJ mixes, but on the other hand I think they can call them however they want since I don't think it's at all detrimental to our scene. All in all I think it makes for an interesting discussion but I agree, the most important thing is just to enjoy the music we love and let others do the same. Cheers man
I feel like why not just use both (all) tools avalible, Why limit yourself? And I personally think you can tell a good DJ simply by track selection, but that's of course just my opinion
You are bringing me on a journey from start to finish the way you are keeping a certain thing going amazing I would love to hear more of your stuff here's helping
Such a beautiful track, so stunningly low-hanging and simplistic (and a lot would say boring/repetitive) but the layers & depth of bass/background, waves & build up is incredible and then the vocals in & out over... Superb.
