@user-cw3cw8rw1r Maria's wrists are permanently bent due to spasticity. She has poor muscle control. She was supposed to wear hand braces when she was younger to prevent muscle rigidity. She used to scream as a child when I put them on her, and after a while, I stopped making her wear them. Her hand muscles are permanently contracted.
@user-cw3cw8rw1r she uses a dynavox to communicate. It's basically a computer that speaks for her. She also communicates through eye gaze and responds to yes or no questions by shaking her head appropriately.
