In late 19th + early 29th c. composers in several countries in the Americas were creating huge no. of very similar styles of musics that overlapped to great degree Brasil, Argentina, US. all are W Hemisphere societies that were full of all sorts of music styles--.Indigenous, African, European---.each of these 3 had many sub styles. These werensources for huge no.. of local rural.folk + urban popular music song dance. The remarkable 2? 3? generations of composers applied Euro music forms + W & E Euro contents---Euro folk + popular music song dance. 1 Brazilian musicologist calls this a "cultural cauldron" into which all of above elements were mixed that produced all sorts of resulting creations. Brazilian composers include Ernesto Nazareth. Chiquinha Gonzaga, Marcelo Tupinamba, Joaquim, Callado, Heitor VilaLobos, etc. Mexican---Juventino Rosas, etc. Cuban---Manuel Saumel, Gonzalo Roig. Ernesto Lecuona, etc. Puerto Rican--- Juan Morel Campos, etc. Plus many other Mexico. C + S American + Caribbean Example--- Venezuelan waltz Dama. Antanona Also Mazurek was popular in some countries. Today, mainly Martinique (songs in French or in local French creole), Puerto Rico. Argentina, a little.In past, as we hear here, Brazil. ( Later. US jazz inBrasil gave rise to bossa, nova. plus rock, other versions of jazz, rap, etc. ) Brazil, Argentina, US, all created many similar (within each country) music song dance styles. Composers, musicians, dancers mixed + matched.their, many y

... their many national styles AND also borrowed other countries styles. 1 Brazilian.music historian calls this putting all into "cultural cauldron". N Americans, W + E Europeans all borrowed Argentine tango (even now, Olga M.(?) performs on youtube many Polish Yiddish tangos).
