This, and Chopin's Preludes, are two of the the most iconic, accomplished (and for me satisfying) collections of miniatures in the piano repertoire. As a composer, Prokofiev teaches me so many ways to bring a piece to a close. Delighted to have Yudina playing them.
I don't remember hearing a Fugitives that is this compelling. Apparently, as Gieseking was to Debussy's solo music, Yudina was to Prokofiev's. Marvelous.
