This song is pure gold from start to finish. I never get tired listening to it. Its bursting with positive energy throughout. Her voice is brilliant, it's brilliantly produced and its magic. I also love the sentiment in this song, its very special. Possibly the best Christmas song ever?

Mariah has said time and again that she wrote most of the song and went to Walter who then helped her with the bridge! AIWFCIY is not just a song about a lover but it is written from a place of wanting safety and security, something that Mariah did not have in her childhood. The "You" refers to anybody.. her children, friends , her boyfriend, her team, her fans.. it's about both platonic and romantic love and that's what makes it special. Watch her O Holy Night music video. You will be stunned.

She was infamously kept off the number 1 spot in the UK and denied a Christmas number one by a boy band called East 17, who occupied the top spot with a beautiful song called "Stay Another Day". Written by Tony Mortimer about his sense of profound loss when his brother committed suicide, but he also wrote it so that it could be about losing someone you love in general. I hope you get to hear and react to this song as it was huge back in the day, landing East 17 a number one across a few European countries at the time.

One of my favourite Christmas Songs. It was such a shame that it was never Christmas No 1 here U.K. As it was kept of the top spot by another excellent Christmas song which released in 1994. By East 17s song Stay Another Day which is another song I recommended reacting to.

But it is not the most played......"THE CHRISTMAS SONG" has been in that number one spot for over 50 years. But she is definitely a contender with this one.....MSIK MAGIK!!!!

For a long time, I had thought the writing of all the really great new Xmas songs had ended with Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and Bobby Helms's "Jingle Bell Rock." Many tried writing them over the years, many failed in my view. Then one day I heard "My Grown-Up Christmas List" and, not too much later, this one. "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is my favorite of the two. The tune is fresh and wonderful, the lyrics simply sparkle along with it, and it just SOUNDS and FEELS so Christmassy!

FYI don’t know if you know this was filmed in Bronx New York. The Pelham Parkway section. this was special for me because I came from the Bronx. of the decorations that were filmed. are on a private home in the Bronx. this man and his wife made a Christmas spectacular every year for many years. Mariah Carey film there. it is a wonderful video. and I enjoy your reactions merry 🎄

'All I Want For Christmas Is You' reached the position number-one for the first time ever in December, 2019. It spent 3 consecutive weeks at #1. After that, it went #1 again in December, 2020 and now for 3rd in a row, it came back again. This song has spent 6 non-consecutive weeks at the top so far.

For this reason AIWFCIY was Number-One in 2019 and this year this song has reached at No. 1 for 3rd year in a row. So far, this song has spent 6 non-consecutive weeks at the top.

@@sommerjean7698 the song was not allowed to chart because of some rule against holiday songs and also that it was never physically released as a single in 1994. So it just had radio play and was meant to sell the album as a whole. Over time because of online downloads and streaming, it became more easier for the song to chart and billboard started allowing songs that were old or recurrent to chart again because the billboard chart must reflect the overall popularity of the song.

In the UK it only managed to get to number 1 last year for the first time. Originally it only managed a number 2 in 1994 where it was kept off the top spot by East 17 with 'Stay Another Day' (which itsself is a beautiful song). Shes not likely going to repeat the same feat as she did last year because of that dumb Ladbaby's bid for Christmas number 1, with Ed Sheeran and Elton close behind at number 2 at the minute. Wham!'s 'Last Christmas' is currently being streamed so much its ranked 3rd at the minute with Mariah sitting in fourth. Will find out on Friday who gets the Christmas number 1 this year, but I doubt Mariah will achieve it again this Christmas.

I’d recommend you listen to Wizard - I wish it could be Christmas everyday. Great song. Not as good as this one but still a great song. I’d also recommend Boney M Mary’s Boy Child, Chris Rea Driving home for Christmas, Cliff Richard Mistletoe and Wine, Leona Lewis One more sleep, The Pogues ft.
