You didn't include Summer Jam, that one was cool! I think GMA Rehearsals were live (she did two times) and probably 2:42 was also live, u can hear a little crack at the very beginning. The rest I'm sure they're all lipped.
If I'm honest, I know that most of the whistles (or maybe all of them) are lipped or pre-recorded but I don't care, i mean... IT'S MARIAH CAREY, she's the queen, what does the rest matter?
You also hear small lil gasps here and there, I would have to hear with headphones tho. Also keep in mind the top whistle is layered on top of prerecorded harmonies (added for depth). Therefore it seems as it's all part of a pre-recorded piece but it's probably not. Others such as this 1:34 are pre-recorded, (only that part) it sounds too much if not identical to the original, but the whistle runs prior to that were live. She may do an all live like the example you stated, or do a combination of live and pre-recorded ending. It's kinda funny to me honestly 😂 cause she can pull an all live whistle run easily but I guess she does it to preserve her voice or to add thos super agile runs for dramatic effect.
Gma Rehearsal was actually live and the C#7 run from American Idol was too. 2014 Shanghai was the only other time she really attempted it. Rest are just outright lipped.
@@MarshallHi but they are. Besides the Fourth of July performance, which let’s be realistic because she lipped Hero the same day, the other performances use either the 2013-2015 playback or the 2016-2020 playback, and I don’t think she ever used any others.
