@@jeimuzufernandis6870 Ellen did make her drink champagne but there is no evidence that is what caused her miscarriage don’t present this as a fact. 1 glass of champagne is unlikely to cause a miscarriage
Even though she was going through a really difficult period she hit all the notes! and sounds just as brilliant back in 1990's I don't care what people say about her Mariah is one in a Billion and there will be nobody else like her ever again.
She's a brave, strong woman to do this! My hat goes off to her for singing such a triumphant song like this even when she feels like crap after dealing with a hardship like that!
I'm going to see Mariah Carey live at Glasgow SSE Hydro in March 2016, looking forward to it, she's awesome, her Voice is soo unique, so special, so famous in music for a few decades now. I know she will be great, I love your music Mariah and you rock. Can't wait to hear that beautiful angel voice live for the first time. Roll on March 2016 😊😆😊 ✌💝
Commenting 4 years later to tell you I’m super jealous. The Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour was imo her best in 10+ years and Glasgow was one of her best dates! Lucky lucky you
Ok, no song ever makes me feel something special inside of me but this one just made me feel something so nice and beautiful a nice warm wave of relaxation and this is truly beautiful and gorgeous I love it period .
This woman is a huge legend, songwriter, beautiful vocalist who cherishes every word as her own! And converts her passion from vocals to feelings, just incredible xx
Just hear her very first line and and you will understand why Mariah is always in the class of her own as a vocalist compared to others. What differentiates itself from other singers’ vocaline is not only the beautiful combination of smoth legato phasing, stable breath control, swift transition, decent support but also how creative, colorful yet still emotionally and musically intelligent the way she sings it. She shows that even with an aging vocal cord and an unstable health condition she can still effortlessly deliver the line, tho imperfect, with immense musicianship. Many may have “great technique” like her but just see how many (if not few) of them are able to use their technique to create truly legendary, emotionally complex vocalines, let alone change the texture of songs and make them their own?
this performance she did of hero is just pure spectacularity just beautiful amazing im speechless this is such an inspirational song Daya from Austrailia
@LeeBwatson Both have their merits and both have made a large impact. Don't hate on Mariah because during her prime she was amazing and she still is for the most part.
mariah was sick, and i just heard her sing live last week at a benefit and ur right she SOUNDS way BETTER than past years and she lost all the weight she put on! she will make a comeback!
people people she is incredible....the whistle you hear is due to the vocal nodules she has. When you use a certain register ,depending on your vocal chords condition than this will happen. Two sounds can be produced at the same time. It happens.
The bridge sounded amaing Legendary Mariah Carey is one of the 4 most successful females in music history. Ever. Along with Celine, Whitney and Madonna. Stay mad if you don´t like it
The weird thing about this performance is - as i think - that she may not have sung it best, may not have hit every note and so on. BUT, it's so emotional and honest, it almost made me cry. and isn't this, in the end, the most important thing in music?!!
i was fed up with hearing this song from every diva-wannabe.. but the way she sang it it's like she was having this intimate conversation with someone very dear to her.. it actually moved me
@MCsVoice97 Yes this is very true. She is silently pushing air out of her mouth and lipping the words causing the squeaking sounds. Anyone can do this simply by closing your throat up and pushing air out really hard and you get a very high frequence squeak that sometimes you can hardly even hear.
People don't realize this but being a singer is the hardest job in the world! Because whatever negative thing thats going on in your life, goes directly to your voice. If you're angry, sad, depressed it shows in your voice.
She was so bad and tired on this vid !! and she's doin' the whisthle cuz it's pre recorded she doin' it hard to look like she singin certain parts live but she's not and those whitsle come out. So happy to see her happy and on top of her vocal abilities now !
Ok but there's something you have to realize. NOBODY sounds the same after 20 years of power singing like Mariah and Whitney did. Do you seriously think Mariah wrote all her early 90's songs thinking she wouldn't have been been able to sing them exactly right in 20 years? Of course not! If anything, she's showing that she is a true artist by improvising. Just enjoy her singing while she's still here. She's one of the only great vocalists we still have left.
To those who said that her best days are over, take a look at her live performance in 2009, one year later after this performance, when singing "I want to know what love is" and tell meeee if those days are really over. People, DONT be mean, disrespectful and unconscious, she is not out of this world, she is a human being with incredible talent, a magnificent gift but she can get a cold, she can get sick as we all do. Just hear her singing and shut up. Specially you mtimoleon289.
listen the girl wrote it she can do whatever she wants with it... i dont care if she she sings it live or not shes got it goin on, imagine some1 writing a song like this 4 u.... mariahas a true star she writes everything she sings!!! x
I love this song very nuch.. I remember when it first came out. The only thing that ruined this performance was the fact that she sang the whole song a quarter tone flat. Very strange indeed given she is such an acomplished singer.
actually after 2:34 she's lip synching, that whistlenote is not in the original version either, I think it happened by mistake when she opened her mouth and mimicking to the pre recorded track
Lovatic Since99 how come she sounds flat in the first part, obviously struggled and avoided the higher parts and beltings, but after the bridge it sounds flawless like in the 90s.
Guys, Mariah did the whistle. Trust me. Her vocal nodules were acting strange at that time, such that whenever she belts, she also whistles. At the same time.
Guys, in case you missed him (most people probably did), the back vocalist that was hitting the high notes for Maraiah was Trey Lorenz. If you are around 30 years old, you may remember him from his hit "Someone to hold" back in 1992. Outstanding voice. Check him out for yourself, he's on the Tube. I felt sad to see him still performing in the shadow of Maraiah (no disrespect intended to Maraiah) but he can make it on his own no problems what so ever. Go Trey; you can make a comeback!!
@SonicEther ofcourse they will believe you .. bcoz they all like mariah carey's songs. that insipres them and idolized by many of the singers in the world. bwe, a fan acceptED that mariah carey can't sing like she was in the 90's but she can prove that even though her fame and beautiful voice is about to dissapear all through the years.. she can STILL write songs and record and if ever, sing it live for all her fans who still support her. like ME :)
I'm a big fan of Mariah, but if you showed someone who had never heard of her this performance, and then told them that she's the #1 selling female artist of all-time, they'd never believe you.. haha :P
Mariah Carey is the vocalist so she has the main role. The backup singer doing the high notes has also the job to match the high notes of MC. It doesn't mean MC can't reach the high notes. How can she do two things at a time? She's singing and so the backup singers.
She didnt wait for her voice to get tired to start collaborating with rap artists... Fantasy remix, Thank God I found You remix, heartbreaker, sweetheart, and so on...
she wasnt at her best, but i herd her say in an interview that she had a bad misscarrage at the time she was promoting E=MC2,and her eyes look realy sad, just wanna give her a hug, thank god shes happy again and has the twins, cant wait to see her on idol next year x
actually the 'whistle' is just the noise mariah's making because she's using pre-recorded vocals and the tech guys usually dont turn her mic off when shes miming
I just love the way she goes in to pre recorded vocal at 2.39 its so obvious you bumble all over the place for the first 2.39 of your performance then suddenly become note perfect at 2.39 through to the end!!
@initochanchan You are spot on imo. This is what I've thought ever since the first time those weird notes appeared. There is no other explanation. She's singing live and when she's belting at a certain frequency she somehow produces this other screechy note at the same time. It's rare / possibly unheard of in pop singing but anyone can test it by tensing up their throat and screeching / whispering - more than one tone will come out :-) Mariah's voice has been through a lot.
