So fun fact this is considered by most critics and fans, one of IF NOT THEE BEST Mariah Carey live performance on a vocal technicality level. She belted 11 F#5s in that ONEEEE CLIMAX OF THE SONG!! Idk if ur aware of music theory or the specific notes but to keep it light, that’s like, one of the most insane vocal feats ever done by ANYONE, even with vocalists who usually stay up in that upper belting range like Aretha, Patti, Ariana, Lisa Fischer, etc., even THEY haven’t rlly done something like that belt THAT MANY of those type of high notes THAT MANY TIMES consecutively in ONE SOLE CLIMAX, and to make it even crazier those were chestier high belts, fully resonated, clear, and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM was supported, oh AND they were phrased, meaning she was phrasing words while hitting them, they weren’t just little “ah” or “eh” vowels, she was SPEAKING in that range, oh AND she threw a whistle note in between all that🤦🏽♀️💀. NO ONE has EVER accomplished a vocal feat like this, it’s insane. I also noticed u weren’t rlly phased by the upper belts I’m mentioning and how many times she hit them, that’s probably because they might not sound that high to u, but that’s EXACTLY what it is, Mariah makes highass belts that should sound thin, and DO sound thin for MANY other master vocalists, she makes them sound like ur average little note Joe from the next block can hit. Like she makes her F5s and F#5s sound like literal C5-D5s💀. Sorry if I bore u with all this technical talk or confused u I just wanted to let u GRASP just how INSANE it was what she just did in this particular performance and why so many refer to this as her BEST live performance VOCALLY of all time.
You see this, and the complete disrespect she gets online now is absolutely disgusting. Singing like this for 30 years no way you’re going to hold the voice you once had. But still sings amazing at 54.
