Mariah did some as well, but remained higher for most of the song. They just have different styles of how they sing. They all have unique capabilities so why are you comparing? It's completely unnecessary. Mariah would not have invited Ariana on the song unless she really liked Ariana's voice.
Ohhhh... Ariana's vocal tone is indeed spectacular, warm and soft. She possesses one of unique vocal tones. I think that she used lighter softer and breathier vocal to intensify the difference of vocal tone between JHud and her. Spread love ... three of them gave us the best gift for Christmas.
