Mariah has the most unique quality to her belting, light, bright yet powerful, supported, resonated, weightless and possess a bell ring quality. She just knows how to make something sound powerful yet beautiful and even slightly soft at the same time. I've never seen anybody can sound like her.
I'm not even sure how, she does so many things that are considered impossible. No to mention she did all of these with ease 😂😂😂 as well like it's nothing for her. She literally takes the word "difficult" in singing to the next universe.
The Daydream tour in Tokyo is for me one of the best technical and vocally performance EVER in history. Great lows, resonant mid and upper belts, long support range, beautiful vibrato, nice head voice and falsetto and incredidible whistles.
The belting on daydream era was perfect!! But the whistle on daydream era are not strong and weak dahling...butterfly Whistle more Strong, and accrobatic...
Iconic Vocal Productions not only would we not have one of the greatest vocalists of all time, but we also might not have the same vocalist as we do today because she was a huge inspiration
Iconic Vocal Productions NO l couldn't imagine that! I've already lost one legend that l loved (and still love because of her legacy.) l'd only have Beyonce left. I couldn't imagine not having her here either.
Unpopular opinion but I think that Eb5/E5 is her threshold for chest comfort range . Notes up to this are still somewhat consistent during her raspiest eras. For instance, even when she got better in Charmbracelet, Great high Fs and F# but countless sustained, piercing and powerful E5s. Daydream had wonderful F5-G5 belts but it's those E5s and Eb5s that became her gold notes.
Comfort in terms of what she can manage to sing numerous times due to the nodules, sure but the countless belts above E5 shows that she had the tessitura and technique to nail them but the condition of her instrument affects it.
@@GarageStudio7 indeed. The fact thats she can carry M1 with good amount of body involved and compression up to F#5-G5 and phrasing them is insane. I lowkey think she's one of the highest Soprano in mainstream industry. Her M1 on E5-G5 doesn't even sound high and unnatural/mixy at all on her best shape. Even someone like Tori or Ariana who have high set Vocal couldn't do what she did😊
@@Mein-fe4js Great point there! You’re so right, the fact that she sounds quite solid and not like she has reached a breaking point or actively mixing plus to top it off phrasing clearly up there says a lot! I recently also noticed that people overlook the actual resonance of her voice. If you actually watch her belting vs her contemporaries such as Whitney and Celine you’ll see that she rather tends to hold the mic farther but her voice is still clearly heard as if it were close.
@@GarageStudio7 sometimes they overrate Whitney and Celine too much when they compare them with Mariah. Mariah's Vocal quality on E5-G5 is the best in the trinity and that is not even something they need to debate. Zero pushy, very clean, thick, meaty, and piercing. It still sounds like M1, there is no tonally change at all ( not like super bright twangy belt/mix like every Soprano outthere) . They overrate them when infact, Mariah's anytime u need a friend from music box tour show something that Whitney nor Celine couldn't do. Perfect phrasing resonance on Eb5-F5 for long period of time without fatigue and colorful sounds. I never found any Soprano who can do what Mariah did. *Retain chest voice colour* as high as G5 and phrasing them many Times like tommorow doesn't exist. Name any Soprano in this world who can do what she did. She is a child Prodigy who has her own technique. She creates her own way of singing to compensate with her nodules. *With enough practice and dedication, u can sound like Whitney or Celine* But it's not work for Mariah's approach. Retain chest voice sounds as high as F5-G5 is humanly almost impossible, let alone effrotlessly hit them. Even Whitney struggled to do that
Damn I Loved This Video So Much 😍 That Growled E5 In Make It Happen Was SOO Powerful & The F5's In Joy To The World OMG 😍😍😍 QUEEN OF Technique! Great Video Boo ❤
Ariana and Mariah are the only artists who can make the upper belts sound angelic. The others do it in an impressive way, but sometimes it is annoying. With Mimi and Ari ... always divine.
Ariana doesnt support hers and doesnt retain as much tonal quality and mostly strained with high larynx lol But it is the sound that she definitely goes for and has a lot of potential .
Her velvety and silky voice yet effortless is the most unique tone ive ever heard... Im glad she dont have she dont have that piercing sound in upper belts instead sounded so rounded and opened.. Give me chills
the fact that most of these clips are from daydream era, daydreamriah really had the ease to upper belts during this era, so sad that her voice during that era feels like it was borrowed bc it disappeared after 1996 😓
Its just that the person who made this video chose to only incorporate daydream. Not even every daydream tour but specifically tokyo which was heavily dubbed, not saying she didnt do them
indigetis ut vos scitis oh, i mean mariah got low timbre when speaking but could sing so light her singing voice at her peak era so girly but powerfull
@ducanalexeze-bikono7217 As a die hard Whitney fan there was no reason to bring that up here lol. They had two different vocal fachs, so mariah thrives in phrasing and agility whereas Whitney shines in chest core and sustainability. Ying and yang
@@takemyhand1988 Whitney sustained F#5 and G5 and I’m pretty sure Céline can too mariah just couldnt sustain longer bc she was using valsalva to sustain her 5th octave belts
@@r.uwamhenye8282 She couldn't sustain because she had nodules, unlike them....if she had valsalva, it would show in her neck. That's Whitney, not Mariah. Followed by Celine.
She could…and did. But she placed strong emphasis on tonal quality and musicality and didn’t force strained sustained F5s that sounded painful like the other two.
Mariah is an amazing singer but her upper belts aren't as effortless as for example Ariana's upper belts, and Ariana can also go much higher with belting than Mariah can. Ariana can go up to a Bb5 with ease and she has even belted a B5 live, but Mariah has never gone any higher than G5 live. But of course, Mariah has her own strengths-her lows, resonant mid belts, and incredible whistles. Overall for comparison I would say Mariah is a close winner but in terms of upper belts Ariana clearly wins. Ariana also has amazing vibrato for everybody complimenting Mariah on that.
