Mariah was written off so the interviewer was asking if she was making music like JLo and Beyonce to be popular again. Which Mariah doesnt do.

Saying you liked her music was “uncool.” This was at the beginning of her “comeback” so to speak, so while she was definitely in the middle of rewriting her career, she was by no means as solidified as a legend as she is now. That work on Emancipation of Mimi cemented her legacy. But this clip is from the middle of it where people were still acting surprised that she had another #1 single in her, let alone 3 more. Ughh that laugh is EVERYTHING!!!!!! Ms. Mariah will always take the classy way out while still throwing shade. Such an icon. How lucky we are to be alive with this angel and be able to experience her god given talent live still. I adore her. She and Celine Dion are untouchable when it comes to comparing voices and song lyrics. Its unfathomable how much talent they both have.
