My two cents: Her debut through Butterfly is undoubtedly her best voice, with Music Box through Daydream being the peak for me. She continued to show us why we call her the Songstress Supreme through her lyricism and musicality with Music Box. She earned the title of Queen of Christmas with unsurpassed vocals in Merry Christmas. She portrayed why she is the Queen of Melisma in a way she hadn't since Vision of Love with her album Daydream. Music Box might be my favorite. There's just something about the crisp, clear, cutting resonance of Endless Love.

I flipped out when I first heard Mariah, way back in 1990. I mean I went crazy for her and people thought I was crazy. Lots of folks thought she was a here today gone tomorrow singer. I kept telling them that this girl was the real deal. Well, 30 years later and hundreds of millions of records sold proved me right.

there was more tune in the 90s than now. not saying that because I'm a 90s kid, I also think 70s and 80s had real melodies. even if you didn't like the song at least it had a tune. nowadays the songs don't really have a memorable tune.
