I think as long as they are moving towards each other, one will keep subducting and it won't get narrower. I'm not 100 % sure tho cuz I'm not a scientist lol
And, subduction could be the heat source used for extra terrestrial machines embedded in the sea floor millions of years ago as a heat exchange generated electricity source. How else to speed up evolution? Bet you didn't think 💭 I knew that, did you?
