Hello all and welcome to my first RU-vid video! In today's video I wanted to share with you some thoughts on Marianela Nuñez and 10 Qualities I think make her the incredible performing artist that she is! These are 10 lessons that all dancers can take with them to improve upon their dancing as well!

I would add: no: 11... She always presents herself immaculately; she makes class and rehearsals as important as performing. She NEVER dresses in sloppy clothes, which is a sign of a very concentrated mind. She takes corrections and always smiles. She has a wicked sense of humour, and has a wonderful talent and wonderful personality. (It was sad for her when Carlos Acosta retired; they were a ballet pairing made in heaven; so pleased that she now has another ballet soulmate in Vadim Montagirov; they are instinctive, and magical partners.) Her years at the Royal Ballet appear to have been very happy for her; she found her rightful place. She truly is the Queen.

Marianela is the BEST ballerina of our generation! I absolutely adore her. But if you’d ever met her in person which I have, she’s the most natural, most approachable and the nicest person with this abundance of talent I’ve ever met.

I'm curious if her openness and kindness in real life translates into part of the reason she is so relatable to watch onstage... The ballet world can sometimes create cold exteriors so the fact that she has such a lovely personality on top of being a lovely dancer makes me admire her even more!

You can tell she just absolutely loves her job and cherises ballet so much even when she’s not dancing and you hear her talk about ballet or just the look on her face that she absolutely loves it and doesn’t take it for granted at all that’s what I love about her the most she’s so humble too and she plays characters so well❤️

Nela is just an absolute gift to ballet and her pairings with Vadim are always flawless. I've watched the 2018 Giselle and Swan Lake SO MANY TIMES.

I never had any interest in Ballet until about 6-7 years ago. Ballet has been one of my salvations over the horrible last couple of years. Marianela in particular has brought so much joy into my life!

Thank you so much! Sometimes it is difficult, because so many ballerinas at this level share these same qualities. Yet, there are a few that just have that extra-special-something and Marianela is definitely one of them.

Her picture should be in the dictionary, set apart from others, with her own special caption, right next to the words; blessed with perfection, of quality, musicality, control, phasing, and whatever other synonyms one could use to describe such a great ballerina and artist such as she!

thank you for your analysis, I didn't know much about Marianela Nunez and I just discovered her a few days ago on RU-vid. It was a video about comparaisons of Kitri's solo, and I found Marianela one of the best (with Sylvie Guillem and Osipova). She is definitely a very great dancer and I hope I will be able to see her when we would return to the theaters ! The Covid is a curse for the living performers !

Guillem and Osipova are two of my favorite dancers as well! I would love to make a video on them someday! I'm hoping that the live performance arts will come back stronger than ever after this break during Covid. My hope is that enough people will have missed the experience to such a high degree that, when it's possible, the theaters will flood with people and we can all once again share in these artistic and humanistic events!

Until now, I didn't realize how perfect she actually is..... Everybody is crazy about the " HOLY GRAIL" BALLARINAS... So was I.😂💓But Marinela is defently a 🎀 DANCE MACHINE 🎀💪🏻 And she comes across very sympathic in her interviews.... And to all that she truly is beautiful 💖

It was through watching videos of her multiple times that I realized just how incredibly special she is. There are so many insanely talented and beautiful ballerinas in the world... but I am so drawn to Marianela's artistry.

It's so subtle which I think makes it that much more powerful. Plus, being on a stage is so much different than say, an actress on a screen, because the face has to read to audience members so far away. I find it incredible that she's able to project that much while also not over-dramatizing.

That's totally fair! Russian ballerinas have a very particular aesthetic/style that is also undeniably beautiful. The wonderful thing about art/ballet is that it is subjective. There are always going to be certain dancers that we admire more than others based on the expression we feel most connected to on an individual level. Just another reason I love the art form so much! :)

I don’t agree with you. You don’t understand ballet at all if you call amateur, non academic dancers to be queens. All your sentences are gibberish, I mean you can talk for hours about neck or musicality or embodying a character but you can say that about any ballerina good or bad whoever you like. The thing is: to be a great dancer you have to execute the movements right and no western dancers do that, NO ONE because none of them were trained at the Vaganova ballet academy.

I completely understand your perspective and you are more than entitled to disagree. I welcome different opinions. My perspective comes from an artistic lens rather than just a purely technical one. Marianela dances from the heart- and it speaks to many audiences. It's okay if she doesn't resonate with you. I will say this though... Even top Russian artists such as Natalia Osipova and Maria Khoreva respect and admire Marianela Nunez.
