This is awesome!!!! So glad her rarities are coming out! Looks they took a note from PJ Harvey releasing her demos and saw what a good idea it was. I hope they release some outakes from before the poison too
This is so nice, thankyou Marianne! I am a little younger than yourself but I remember seeing you on TV leaving Goulburn (or was it Ryde?) for England, I lived in Yass nearby in NSW and I remember being very excited about your being so close and OK! Admiring your beauty and your lovely voice is one of the great themes of my... privileged life.
Such a fantastic album, the soundtrack to my "indian summer" in Brixton back when it was "cool". Colourful contrail sunsets, the windmill and prisoners playing basketball in the court, and Marianne.
There is something really haunting about this song (beyond Marianne Faithfulls magical voice) but can anyone explain the meaning of it to me? I keep interpreting it in slightly different ways.

"Laying in your little white room with no windows and three square sedations a day" Waters really laid into poor Syd after being the one to start declaring Syd Schizo then got a trendy shrink to declare Syd an "incurable madman" in first place, was Waters hoping Syd would be stuck in a mental home and this was his alibi for himself?
