The morning sun touched lightly on The eyes of Lucy Jordan In a white suburban bedroom In a white suburban town As she lay there 'neath the covers Dreaming of a thousand lovers 'Till the world turned to orange And the room went spinning round At the age of thirty-seven She realised she'd never Ride through Paris in a sports car With the warm wind in her hair So she let the phone keep ringing And she sat there softly singing Little nursery rhymes she'd memorised In her daddy's easy chair Her husband, he's off to work And the kids are off to school And there were, oh, so many ways For her to spend the day She could clean the house for hours Or rearrange the flowers Or run naked through the shady street Screaming all the way At the age of thirty-seven She realised she'd never Ride through Paris in a sports car With the warm wind in her hair So she let the phone keep ringing As she sat there softly singing Pretty nursery rhymes she'd memorised In her daddy's easy chair The evening sun touched gently on The eyes of Lucy Jordan On the roof top where she climbed When all the laughter grew too loud And she bowed and curtsied to the man Who reached and offered her his hand And he led her down to the long white car That waited past the crowd At the age of thirty-seven She knew she'd found forever As she rode along through Paris With the warm wind in her hair
The most memorable scene in this film is when they are driving through monument valley,in the early hours . And the stunning moon light is illuminating the desert, and this song starts playing.
I have this movie and am so glad I can watch it anytime. The soundtrack has some of the most poignant songs which work with the mood or point of the scene. I was in high school during the big Phil Spector avalanche. His music was the best at the time and he had many musicians in his "wall of sound' band who went on to become well known solo performers. then the 70's with the Rolling Stones and Marianne Faithful I can't get into most of the music today-----no lyrics, all electronic, vulgar. Bet the people who are so into the current crap will not remember what they hear now in 50 years. Nice video. Thanks.
I’ve worked projection for over 30 years…( now it’s all digital and I’m now 61 with a convertible mustang gt driving thru Malibu calif blaring this as I roar down the PCH instead of Paris,.. I was lucky enough to work projection for this movie at United artist theatres at the Oaks Mall Thousand Oaks… and Yes this scene Stunned Me!!! The coffee shop at the beginning of the movie was only a block from my theatre…
Always loved this song and also loved the movie they played it in Marianne imo could have had a great career if didn't go down that wrong road she chose back in the day I know she's suffered with a lot of illnesses and really hope she gets better soon 2022 and still love you Marianne
Antes de nada ver unas secuencias de la pelicula Thelma y Louse de problemas masculinos y amistades de dos mujeres , se puede ver, que cada uno lo interprete como crea convenientes,
