As a college student who has concerns about the political trajectory of our collective behavior as a country, I will be voting for her. The notion that people who are unwilling to have another Trump versus Biden election should fall behind the incumbent president is absurd when clearly the current president is not a strong presidential candidate at this time (or ever. I am tired of the establishment Democrat's inability to fundamentally address the issues that plague Americans in every aspect of our lives). The sad thing about the congress that she will have to work with is how they make drama for contributions, they delay budget decisions for contributions, they threaten social security for contributions, it's a clown show for corporate contributions. The only thing they don't hold hostage for contributions is, subsidies for corporations and wall street, and oil, and the war making industry giants, big tech, because these subsidized corporations feed them with 100s of thousands of dollars. The average congressman spends over half of their day (paid for by taxpayers) on the phone asking for donations from corporations.

I live in Austin and wish I’d been able to hear her in person. I’ve been following her campaign since she announced. I wasn’t sure what to think at first. For someone who hasn’t been a career politician, she actually has deep understanding of US economic/foreign policy and how DC operates. I listened because I was curious, and noticed her providing the same critiques and realistic responses I’ve been focused on for some time. I wasn’t quite at “Team Marianne,” but wanted to follow her campaign and see where it went. I started taking her a lot more seriously a few months after RFK Jr. got in the race. Because the DNC insists there will be no debates and the New Hampshire primary won’t count, the only way for a challenger to get coverage is by becoming a spectacle. That’s the route RFK Jr. took. I know he’s now running as an independent, but upon announcing he drummed up a lot of free coverage via name recognition and spouting inane anti-vaxer rhetoric. People expected Williamson’s to follow a similar route, calling her campaign a vanity tour for a new book. She been a spectacle many times in her life. She knows how to get that kind of attention, and could have done so at any moment. But she never took the bait. Instead of creating sensational news, she produced an economic bill of rights. Instead of repeatedly going on Fox (cause they’ll give her tons of air time as long as she’s “wacky Marianne” and draws viewers,) she took a couple serious interviews and then went back to connecting with grassroots voters. As serious issues emerge, she seeks out deeply knowledgeable people and gives them a platform to discuss them. And she actually lets them speak instead of using them as a spotlight. She’s not dumb about campaigning. She knows the route she’s taking hasn’t historically produced many wins. Writing policy and pounding the pavement at city halls and campuses doesn’t make for a vanity book tour either. Someone who’s been as successfully published as she’s been knows that too. I’ve been following her campaign since March, almost a year now, and she’s stayed on the same path without wavering. Someone with her influence and clout could be doing much easier things with her time. I needed to follow her for a while before making up my mind. Now I have. Regardless of whatever controversies she’s had in the past, I believe she means what she’s saying with all her heart. And I respect that she understands the difference between what a president can do in office vs what they can influence. I don’t know much she could actively accomplish vs Biden, but I believe she could have an immensely progressive and positive influence on the Democratic Party. I think she could open doors for future candidates that wouldn’t be heard otherwise. And I know the following is going to sound corny and naive, but it deserves the same weight as policy. The vast majority of the country feels desperate and wants change. Which means we’ll go in that direction, whatever that means. Trump offers change, but with it comes hate. Biden kinda offers change, but the “kinda” means it comes with apathy. The kind of change Marianne is offering comes with love, and that’s the only thing that heals. I’ve tried a lot of things that haven’t worked. So, love, it is.

First saw you at the Unity Church in Sacramento, CA...have read a number of your books and aware of your deep connection to The Course in Miracles ... you care and you are authentic and America needs Miracle Energy more than ever ... maybe expand on the biggest reason for bankruptacy in America and Corporate medicine has been a diaster to health care in America ever since Nixon and Kaiser made a deal connection... Pharma, Medicare & Private Corporate Insurers spending less time and money on patient care...more money toward advertising (most typically empty corporate hype) and political power connections. There are less licensed general practice doctors, instead more Nurse Practioners assigned to regular patient care, those that can that can afford the schooling go into high status/income specialities ... It is all managed for less time for patient care to factory care, more making big profits. Administrators of managed care make the the big bucks. There commericals are money-making cattle calls!
