Maricopa, AZ | Living in Phoenix Arizona Suburbs Maricopa, Arizona 

We moved to Maricopa because of the affordable homes. We bought a 2900 sq ft home with a pool for $240k last year. We came from a small town so we also wanted to keep it that way. I commute to South Chandler for work and the drive wouldn't be so bad if drivers didn't drive wreckless on the 347. I just wish there was an In & Out Burger here lol.

Just purchased a house in Maricopa a few months ago. Love it here! Small quiet town and amazing neighbors. I will say the smell hit me the first couple of weeks but you get used to it. Work in Tempe early shift so traffic is hit and miss for me. 35 min on and good day 50 in bad traffic. One accident though and your sitting on the 347 to get OUT of town for a while lol.

Yes just brought a big 3900 sqft 3car garage home here in Maricopa this past November I love it coming from Chicago so far & the cow smell sometimes is from the farm in the area where the beef 🥩 comes from but I’m game!

One of the worst places to live if you are considering moving to the Phoenix area. If you have kids, and value education, run from Maricopa. Though if education is a priority for your kids, I wouldn’t move to Arizona, period.

Great Video. I live here. as you can see car thefts are high out there in also in the Rurals area. Its cheaper for a reason. All newer builds have HOA, which sucks. No public transportation or biking distance. The City is good for an older person. if I had to live out there, Buy the land and build your own without HOA. My advise is spend the extra $50,000 in move closer to the Cities.

The wife and I were going to buy in Maricopa but the rush hour traffic on that 2 lane highway was insane. We found a cheaper but nicer home with a pool in Coolidge at Heartland Ranch. Not far from 87 as and the 10.

We went back to “Copa” this past Saturday...We first went to this development 18 months ago when we moved out here from San Diego & they were doing everything to get us to purchase a house...But this time they didn’t seem as enthusiastic & didn’t have a date when the next phase would start...So we went down to Florence the following Monday and found a 4bed/3bath & now have a closing date of March 31st... I seen the video y’all did on Anthem that’s why I went...I agree with your husband...IT’S HELLA FAR but hopefully the commute to work will not become a problem for us 🤞🏾

Another good video! Is it possible to do a video on a moving "check list" of sorts you need when you move to AZ? (stuff like changing your license/registration, essentials to buy, etc) I've never moved before, so it would super helpful. Regardless, keep up the great content!

Me and my family are moving there in a few months and want to know what the schools are like

we found out that taxes can shoot up to help pay for schools that have to go in--as much as 200 a month...and the dust storms during rush hour is deadly

I was visiting Maricopa yesterday and I am considering the move. Very nice area!

why do people keep saying SR347 is the "only way in or out of Maricopa"... and then just focus on the portion going to phoenix? SR347 also runs south out of town and will get you to I8 or I10 via SR84 SR238 runs roughly East/West, straight through town... connecting to Gila Bend and Casa Grande several other roads run south and will get you to I8 east there's IR86, IR24 I get that it's set off a bit AND 347 IS the only direct route to Phoenix.... but it's most certainly not the only way in and out of town. There are in fact "...other alternatives to get out of the city"

The traffic on 347 is the worst I have ever dealt with, but I love the town is nice and quiet and a lor of great people live here.

For those if you with big dreams of buying a house in Maricopa all I have to say is keep searching. Alot of scum bags have moved here. Drive up and down the 347 a few times and you'll know what Im talking about.

About to leaving Maricopa after 12 yrs the early morning commute is horrible whn theres accident its 1 way in 1 way out🤦🏻‍♀️ no good food placed to eat but cilantros.

Wow never thought I would run into this video of Maricopa lol we live here and everything you stated is true. Our biggest mistakes was not research this little town...SR 347 that is very stressful and depressing 🤨 overall the community we live in is very nice and quite 24/7. And yes not a whole lot of restaurants. You have to go put of town for shopping. Yes SR 347 will not be resolved anytime soon, been going on for awhile now with appeals...ugh

There are actually a couple of ways in and out of Maricopa. It depends on which side of the valley you want to get to. Lol when I lived there I lived on property so I was 10 to 15 away from the city. Its amazing!!!

I like your video! I am fortunate to be able to telecommute. So that highway isn't an issue. But if I did have to drive it everyday, I would probably hate it. it is nice here, and sort of a small town feel. Do wish we had a Lowe's or Home Depot. But the nearest one is only 20 mins away off the I10 And Chandler Blvd. I love my house and do like the community!

We were looking at Queen Creek in 2010 when big homes were under 200k. We did not buy because we hadnt planned our move yet. We are kicking ourselves in the butt for not buying one or two.

We were looking in Copa a few years ago and they just don't have all of the amenities . We didn't see a real hospital, no lumber store like home depot, not alot of restaurants. We are moving to Casa Grande well I guess tomorrow. Sold the house in WY and the u haul is loaded for 4am. We got priced out of the valley over the past 3 years, Casa seemed developed but not huge. Hopefully it works. We put ourselves on a 2 years plan. New house in 2 or new town in 2, who knows. I'm just looking forward to warm weather, currently 18 degrees, 15mph winds, and my koi pond is frozen over so I have to go hunting for my fish after we buy a new house. Can't wait.

I would probably NOT have the rush hour traffic? Second question: the $400 electric bill in summer sounds scary...how many months would that be? Where I was, it's always been 4-seasons and I don't like UV! Also have a sensitive nose...to bad smell. Thanks again for this video!

There is a another road. It’s a two lane but it will take you to casa grand. To Tucson. I lived there 2007-20010.. I wish I never left. 347 south takes you to Interstate 8. But to get to Phoenix yes that’s the only way

Wondering if social security income is taxed in Arizona. What about over 55 housing developments that do not have a golf course?

Maricopa is a dive, in my opinion of course. Maricopa is in Pinal County also. Super job Mrs. Keep pushing thru. God bless your family.

Hi...Arizona is on my list of warm places to move (as well as Nevada) to from Chicago. I hear different people have different experiences based on where you move to (i.e. Gilbert, Chandler, Scottsdale, etc.) Have you experienced any scorpion issues , or any other bug problems ? And from what you heard from people living in Arizona, is it more common in houses or apartments to have those issues?

Fun? Look like military housing to me. One size fits all- from front to back count-off! Hate organized Government housing. Ugly. Reason why people show up at the wrong residence (?)

Is there a town center with a city hall and chamber of commerce? Closest hospital?

Looks quite a bit like the salt lake city metro area except the palm trees lolol
