Yes, I’m full of admiration for the work Nick and his offsider Cameron have put into the forest at LaLande and now Chateau Chamont. LaLande is now blossoming in so many areas it’s amazing! Yes, they are so knowledgable. And seeing the tree "explode" shows how important it is to let professionals do the work - downed trees are far more dangerous than anyone might realize. Some years ago ('80's?) there were some terrible storms that blew through the Black Forest area of Germany (they may have been tornadoes, or storms similar to tornadoes) - huge swaths of trees, thousands, came down for miles and miles, but they were on top of each other - several people were killed just walking through the woods near the downed trees - many trees had twisted and just the chance removal or displacement of a key, seemingly innocuous branch would release the tension and trees would suddenly spring, without warning, into a new position. I'm glad Nick and Cameron are clearing out the overgrowth and allowing the healthier trees and plants to get some much needed sunlight and thrive.

This particular episode reminds me so much of my favorite quote from Alice Walker: “Whenever you are creating beauty around you, you are restoring your own soul.” Whether it’s Stephanie’s grief stricken heart after her father passed away, Pavlina’s refugee torn heart, tender little Marie’s lonesome heart, etc., etc., etc., Chateau La Lande is a healer for whatever ails you, including all of your subscribers! And now you have Nic and Cameron restoring the soul of the forest, too. Just heavenly everywhere…

I really like his helper Cameron, his personality is really shining through and I'm glad to see he feels more free to speak up on camera. In one of the vlogs, he mentioned that he is a descendant of Eric the Red, a famous historical figure I will need to do some research on. He explained that is where his naturally "split" or forked beard comes from.

I imagine that Pavlina and Marie will find harmony with each other. Marie will also be busy helping with cooking and probably even take on other responsibilities. Someone pointed out in the comments that now that Nattie lives away from Lalande with Aumary, and they are not there at night, that someone would be needed to help the B and B guests in the evenings.

@@jimm8682 Have you watched Marie's past vlogs on her You Tube channel, Marie Wiik? She went through feeling quite lost after leaving Lalande and her hopes& dreams crashed and she was extremely depressed for a long, long time. I think that perhaps she has grown a lot from those many very humbling experiences. I too like Pavlina and agree with you that she is very humble, and so sweet and charming and that gives her a special beauty. She is truly a beautiful soul and I hope she can stay at Lalande indefinitely. She has no reason to leave that I know of. Hopefully she was able to get a special visa due to her circumstances. Cross our fingers ^_^

You are in the Golden age of your life having found Philip, having your Mother and Percy around at regular intervals in good health still and of course with Amaury and Nati et all. One thing ( out of MANY things) I have learned by proxy of Stefanie and all her amazing Lalanders (we're looking at you Nick) is how ESSENTIAL it is to take care of our forests if you want them to thrive. It's a lot more than just letting them run wild to protect certain species, theres a science behind it and Nick and his partner Cameron have done an EXCEPTIONAL job. I hope they know this

Hello Everyone at the Chateau. I am loving the changes to the trees and pathways to the lake. I am imagining a trolly or a small carnival-sized train that could take a family or group all around. Also, picnic tables made from wood from the forest.(children’s sizes too) Will the lake be as deep as it was before? Will there be sand brought in to make a small beach? I may have missed that information. Can there be tiny-sized buildings placed all through the forest for hikers can shelter if rains start. I don’t know if people sell sheds that can be moved. Seems like most buildings there are made of rock. I really enjoy your show. Thank you for all your hard work everyone.

I hope you will include more of the"Resurrection of the Woods". Absolutely love the house renovation and the people who live there but Nick and Cameron are educating us in an area I for one had not previously considered. I wish someone (Phillip?) would collect many of the wood's snippets from the Diaries and make a story of them. Do hope Cameron is doing a thesis - it would make a great coffee table book. Several chatelaines seem to be resurrecting gardens but renovating their natural areas seems to have been missed. This should bring back original species of birds, insects, and mammels, and your honey might start tasting slightly different now with different blossoms coming back. Maybe, once again, you will be a pioneer in the field. I'm excited.
